LOFFE RESTAURANTE — Restaurant in Calp

We had a really fantastic meal this evening at L’Offe. We chose to eat early which meant that the restaurant was quiet, hence the 4* for atmosphere. We ordered 4 dishes to share between 2 on the advice of the waiter. The crispy prawns were excellent and huge, we then had the prawns with peanut sauce and fried plantain. We moved onto the meat and had slow cooked pork with plantain tacos, avocado, salsa and sour cream which were fabulous as the pork was tasty and melt in the mouth. Finished up with the steak with chimichurri and plantain chips. There was a lot of steak and we struggled to finish (we are big eaters!) but so delicious we managed it all. The dishes were truly beautifully presented, a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. The mackerel with caramelised onion and balsamic cream, served on crispy banana chips, struck a perfect balance between sweet and savoury. The octopus on a bed of creamy parsnip puree, finished with pistachio powder and crisp raspberry balsamic cream, was deliciously refined. Finally, the grilled ribs, accompanied by a creamy yapingacho and spicy chimichurri, were full of flavour and buttery tender. A culinary experience...

We arrived early - the only customers at that moment. I worried that the place may not be that popular? Did I make a wrong choice? The menu prices are not "bargain basement" prices.
