Nice View and Nothing Else We read the reviews and put this place on our list of must-eats, wish we hadn't!
So many reviews speak of good service and great food, they must have been drunk all night and not seen the service or tasted the food!?
From beginning to the end, I was watching the waiters spend no time with any of the tables, regularly carry food to the wrong table and when it came to us, we received about 30 seconds of attention from sitting down to leaving. There is no communication or system in this team whatsoever.
We ordered a blind paella and bread with olives and aioli. Seems simple enough. After 10 minutes of waiting, I had to call a waiter over and ask him to bring us our bread, which other restaurants on the island give to you without you even ordering it! We didn't have time to enjoy our bread and aioli before the paella was already out and served to us. Unfortunately, it was dry meat and undercooked rice, which is blasphemy when there are so many good paellas being served in the area.
This place can't be in the top 50 restaurants in Santa Ponca, let alone Mallorca. If you want a view, just walk along the sea for free. If you want good food and great service, go elsewhere (Restaurante Miguel is incredible for both).
Note: I haven't left a bad review on any of the other restaurants we've been to in 8 days, this is...
Read moreFood was gorgeous 😍 Plenty of seafood / shellfish on the menu. Pricing is a bit higher than other restaurants, but realistically, I think you are paying for the view of the boats and the sunset. I had the prawn cocktail for starter. It is a large portion and was lovely. For main course, I had the lobster tagliatelle, it was divine and priced at 32 euro, which we felt was very reasonable. I loved it. And the waitress offered to deshell the lobster, which I was very grateful for. My husband had the fried whitebait for starter - delicious and priced at 12 euro, which we felt was fair. His main course however was the special of the day, the red snapper, was meant to be a whole one, however we asked for no head on the fish, so he got 2 pieces similar to 2 darnes of salmon but thicker. It was nice, but was priced at 42 euro, which we felt was very expensive! We did not see the price in advance for this dish as it was a special. My dish with half a lobster was a tenner less and more satisfying. Bill was 128 for 2 including a drink each. We left a good tip as we were happy with the food and service. But we didn't even get a goodbye, a thank you or a complimentary shot like the other restaurants. Other than that, service...
Read moreMy partner and I came to Las Olas quite late one evening in search of dinner and even though they were fully booked and therefore very busy, we were greeted very quickly by a waiter who asked us to have a seat and order a drink while he found us a table. We waited a little while buy as soon as a table became available, he took us to it and we ordered. We shared the mixed tapas to start, all of which were delicious and well-seasoned, and then we shared a seafood paella. We were given the choice to have the seafood in the shells or taken out for us and we opted for in the shells. The waiter that served the paella did so with so much care and thought, arranging each but of seafood purposefully on the plate so that the presentation was beautiful. We had a lovely wine too and the staff were all friendly and helpful even though they were extremely busy. It started raining quite heavily partway through our meal and a waiter came quickly to let down the sides of the canopy to provide more shelter from the rain. The staff seem like they go above and beyond for their clients and it really showed in our experience! Thank you to everyone at Las Olas who helped to give us such a...
