AVOID!!!!!!!!
I’ve never written a bad review like this and try not to listen to reviews when trying somewhere new as I like to give places a try. The staff were so rude, and I’m still shocked at how me and my friends were treated. We waited at the door for 15 mins to be seated after showing up to our reservation at the correct time. When sat down we were next to an extremely loud and drunk family (which we understand isn’t the restaurants fault however it added to the already bad atmosphere). It took 10 extra minutes to get a menu, and our drinks then took another 30 mins. Our starters arrived 55 mins after we had walked into the building, with my friends getting the chips and guac which obviously takes little preparation. We raised our concerns to the female waitress in which they laughed and sniggered in my friends face. The chefs muttered under their breath in Spanish which my English friend obviously didn’t understand. The waitress proceeded to tell us that she saw nothing wrong with our food/experience. My friend had ordered the garlic prawns which were €8. It consisted of 6 small prawns in liquid garlic. We aren’t ones to complain but the price, atmosphere and staff added together was ridiculous. After the waitress had gone back inside, the chef came outside and shouted in our faces that ‘that is good’ ‘that is good’ pointing at us all. I’ve NEVER seen staff speak to customers in that way and it’s absolutely appalling. AVOID THIS...
Read moreLast night after a fantastic day of having explored the island of Mallorca by car, we (2 people) wanted to end this with a dinner at El Ceibo in Santa Ponsa – a restaurant that had a good name in the past. We had booked through TheFork and also received a neat confirmation.
Upon arrival on the terrace we were completely ignored by the waiters present. Only after more than five minutes of waiting were we asked where we wanted to sit. Although there were still empty tables available on the terrace, we were informed without explanation that this was not possible. We had to sit inside.
Once inside, we were again ignored. Only after ten minutes did I ask if the freezing air conditioning could be a little less. The waiter reacted angrily and told us to be patient. When we were finally able to order drinks, the red wine turned out to be almost frozen. The waiter's response was: “Yes, I noticed that too. Drink only a few bits, then it might warm up.”
Finally, when I indicated that the service was substandard, the waiter literally told me to shut up, otherwise he would go to another table. This disrespectful attitude was the last straw for us. We settled the drinks and left, without having eaten.
Conclusion:
What was once a restaurant with a good reputation is now a place where hospitality and respect for customers are completely lacking. For us, this was the first and last...
Read moreWe booked this restaurant for 8 of us and changed the booking time online. When we arrived they said they’d not got the booking but sat us down at a table rolling their eyes. It wasn’t busy at all. We ordered starters which came out sitting 15-20 mins but not everyone had ordered starters so we asked 5 mins after ordering could the mains come out at the same time which he told us they would only be 5 mins after starters. 45 mins after starters people, there were people who had arrived after us that had ate and were leaving evening commencing on how we still not had our mains so we asked how long they would be several times to be told they were coming which they didn’t and was still bringing food out for people who had arrived after, they started rolling there eyes again and giving really nasty looks. 90 mins had gone and we wanted to leave. At this point the mains came out absolutely disgraceful, well done steak which we asked medium rare, chilli and rice was literally just chilli and rice nothing else on the plate, lamb chops that were paper thing and fatty, hardly any meat at all, with around 15 over cooked dry chips. Some plates had a sprinkle of brown lettuce. I would not recommend this...
