We had previously visited this restaurant last year with a large group of around ten people and we had an excellent experience; great food, attentive service, and a memorable evening. Based on that, I was very much looking forward to returning this year as a group of 4.
Unfortunately, this visit was a stark contrast. We were initially enjoying ourselves, but shortly after ordering our mains, several lights were switched off and a screening of ‘Despicable Me 4’ began directly adjacent to the hotel and restaurant. The volume of the film was exceptionally loud, making conversation at the table impossible, and the reduced lighting meant that visibility, even of what we were eating, was poor.
We raised this with the restaurant’s general manager, explaining that we were extremely disappointed not to have been informed about this event when making our booking. The manager told us they were unaware of the screening. However, this statement was later contradicted when they acknowledged that many hotel guests had chosen not to book the restaurant because of the film. This made it clear that they had, in fact, known about it.
What followed was perhaps the most surprising aspect of the evening. Rather than offering an apology or attempting to resolve the situation, the general manager was dismissive, rude, and entirely unapologetic. Despite the disruption to our meal, they refused to make any reasonable adjustment to the bill. Not to mention, the food wasn’t particularly great.
It is rare to encounter hospitality staff who appear so unconcerned with the guest experience, and I left feeling genuinely shocked.
I would strongly urge the hotel to review its training and management approach. This was a disappointing and avoidable situation that has unfortunately ensured a large number of us will not...
Read moreJust a very poor meal all round, probably one of the worst Italian meals I have had around the world. The starter I cannot explain how terrible it was as was my husband’s. The main course equally as poor, bland no flavour, luke warm. My husband had the ribs they were nothing better than a supermarket. A terrible meal and nothing like we’ve had when it was run by the previous occupants. The restaurant had no atmosphere at all and it was generally poor in all aspects. I will not be returning in the summer with my family , which is a shame as it has the perfect setting with a prime location, a lot of improvement is...

From the moment we stepped into this brand-new seafood restaurant nestled within The Donna Portals, we knew we were in for something special. With panoramic views of the sparkling sea and a serene, elegant atmosphere, it’s the kind of place that instantly makes you slow down and savor every moment. The menu is a celebration of the ocean—fresh, seasonal, and masterfully prepared, the service was flawless: attentive but not intrusive, warm, and knowledgeable. Our server took the time to walk us through the menu, offering thoughtful wine pairings that elevated the...
