Salzburger Stubn — Restaurant in Calvià

My partner and I were very excited to eat here after reading the great reviews but we walked away disappointed.

On this particularly evening we had a wait of about 50 mins. We were warned that it could take this long and were encouraged to order starters which we did. We had an asparagus soup and a Bretzel. The Bretzel seemed it had been left in the oven too long. The soup was good.

We had the Kaspressknödel with salad and the Salzburger Schnitzel with potatoes. The Knödel was lukewarm and not very tasty. The schnitzel was quite dry and also not super tasty. The potatoes were a little burnt so I couldn't eat them all.

When we told the staff about the issues they were understanding and offered us a schnapps.

Drinks were good although I did find 8 euros for a glass of Rioja very expensive for Spain.

The food wasn't bad, but I had really been looking forward to it after the great reviews and it didn't live up to my high expectations. Wouldn't come again or...

Came on a rainy afternoon for a short while to get coffee, a cold drink and some fries and to read my book. When I asked for some fries, I was told I could have them with schnitzel. I explained that wouldn’t be possible due to allergies (I also didn’t want a full meal!). There are 5 tables outside. Only 2 tables were occupied on my arrival. I could understand some reluctance to serve me something simple if it were very busy, but it wasn’t. I wasn’t made to feel welcome at all. In fact the waiter was very rude. Claimed to have no vinegar on the premises, someone translated into German for me (waiter didn’t understand spanish?) and I finally got it. With a live insect in it! Fries were terrible. I live only in the next road and not only will I not be back, I won’t be bringing any of my visitors here!! Much better places to...

According to the rate I expected much more from the food and service (especially management) here. Atmosphere was tense and nervous because manager shouted at waiters and was not pleased with smth and it made very unpleasant impression. I’m not talking about the time of waiting our food - it was literally 1 hour 15 min. I just can say waiters were doing their best but obviously poor management put under stress not only them but guests also. We were ready to leave and had absolutely no mood for food anymore when it was finally brought. Tastes of course differ but I really expected more from restaurant with such rate. To cut the long story short we left this place half-hungry with spoiled mood and with intention never come back here again. No compensation was proposed. So...
