TAPAS & PIZZERÍA BEACH — Restaurant in Calvià

I went with my partner a week ago for lunch here expecting traditional Spanish food. The problem arose when the food arrived. After ordering “patas bravas” these wedges came out. I tried to ask the waiter if they accidentally gave us the wrong thing but I was assured by her these were “traditional patatas bravas”. I then had to explain that my partner has a gluten allergy so knows what she can and can’t have and with these not being what she expected I then had to ask the waiter to ask the chef if they have gluten in them. I understand it is sometimes a hassle which is why we are always hesitant to bring it up but in all the other restaurants we visited we never had an issue but here all the staff seemed very annoyed at the inconvenience of checking the ingredients and the food was not what was advertised. All through the process I heard them making comments in Spanish with the worst being the owner of the restaurant saying “ugh why do I even own a restaurant” making fun of the situation. It made the whole experience very tense and we couldn’t wait to leave. The nachos and prawns in garlic were good, the chicken croquettes were okay but be warned the “patatas bravas” are simply wedges. No matter how many times they tried to convince us that “different restaurants mean different patatas”. It was a very simple miscommunication that could have been resolved but instead was taken horribly by all the staff. I never usually listen to reviews and like to make my own opinion of restaurants but in this case 100% trust the reviews all I can say is no wonder it has only 3.7 stars. We visited Tapas & Pizzeria Beach for my sister’s hen do and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish! It was a last-minute idea and a complete surprise for my sister, but the team made it feel like we’d been planning it for weeks. They went above and beyond to make the evening so special, you could really tell how much effort they put into every little detail.

The food was gorgeous, every dish was full of flavour, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. There was such a great variety and everyone in our group loved it.

The staff were incredible, so friendly, welcoming and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble, and they really helped make the night one to remember. The atmosphere was perfect too, relaxed, fun and right by the beach, which made it even more special.
