Against my better judgment, I decided to give this restaurant a second chance. What a mistake. I thought my first visit had already set the bar spectacularly low, but this time… I was genuinely stunned. This wasn’t just bad. This was a culinary and service-level catastrophe. An absolute farce from start to finish.
Let’s begin with the food – if you can call it that. It was, without exaggeration, some of the worst I have ever tasted. I wouldn’t have been surprised to find out it had been microwaved in the back by someone wearing oven mitts and a blindfold. Bland doesn’t begin to describe it. It was aggressively flavourless, as if someone had gone out of their way to remove every trace of taste. Dry, overcooked, under-seasoned – a true masterclass in how not to cook.
And the service? If I had aged a full decade during the wait, I wouldn’t be shocked. It was as though the staff were playing an elaborate game of “how long can we ignore the customers before they leave?” No sense of urgency, no friendliness, and certainly no professionalism. At one point I genuinely wondered if they had forgotten we were there. When the food finally arrived, I almost wished they had.
I left this place feeling not just disappointed, but slightly broken. It was the kind of experience that makes you reflect on your life choices. Halfway through the meal, I metaphorically threw in the towel. By dessert (which, mercifully, I didn’t order), I was spiritually defeated. I surrendered. Emotionally, I was buttered and ready for the oven.
Do yourself a favour – avoid this place at all costs. Go literally anywhere else. Eat toast at home. Chew your own shoelaces. Anything would be a step up from this tragic excuse for...
Read moreWe’ve been to Tom Brown’s twice during our stay, and I couldn’t rate them higher. Their food is delicious, portions generous, menu is extensive for many dietary requirements, the decor is comforting, and most of all the staff are all absolutely lovely.
My husband and I visited for breakfast on Sunday morning, wanting a cooked comfort from home. It can be a bit tricky coming by vegan (and even veggie) food in Calvià, but they did a veggie breakfast and our server suggested what I could swap out- didn’t even need to awkwardly ask! My husband cleaned his plate and said it was even better than back home.
The second visit was tonight for dinner. My husband was excited for a home-comfort bolognese and a vodka slushie, and I decided on the spicy vegan pasta. His arrived and he was left to put on as much parmesan as he wanted, which made it a fantastic meal for him. Unfortunately, which is a fault entirely of my own, I didn’t read the full ingredients of the pasta and didn’t expect soya pieces. I’m autistic with lots of food sensitivities, and had a panic because I was worried it was meat. The staff checked immediately and reassured me soya- which it clearly was- but I still couldn’t eat because of my autistic meltdown. They even made me a new plate to what I thought the ingredients were, but I couldn’t eat. The staff continued to be so kind and polite even though the fault was on me. They didn’t even charge for my meal, drink included.
If you’re by the beach in Magaluf and want something delicious, give Tom...
Read moreNot a bad place,I had a cheese and ham to toastie and possibly the worst coffee I've had on the island I was excited at first and they came out with the coffee and a jug of hot milk to fill it but it was greatly disappointing, it was eddieable and drinkable so we did finish it.
It's ok here and I can see why it would be busy but I Certainly wouldn't return, it's in a beautiful location and has the view but simply so busy with signs, darkness with awful lightning it's difficult to take all that in, its a typical seaside cheap place. ( nothing wrong with that)
Due to paying with cash we where asked to go to the till which we did I was left stood there for a while waiting, whist I did I watched a Mojito being made, the mint used for this was stood in a jug on the bar what ever it was stood in probably water was black/ dark brown and the mint was clearly not fresh anytime that week it looked awful the mint that was used for the drink was pushed down into the drink hiding most of it, pulling up the small part that looked almost OK glad I didn't have that. Unfortunately I didn't have my phone on me or woukd have taken a photo.
When the staff memeber did come over to the till he didn't seem to happy about me wanting to pay taking him away from something else
Look, it's not for me however there's many happy people go and leave here and enjoy there time I'm sure we just caught a bad day /...
