We chose Um Chambao for our Day 2 event following our wedding for approximately 100 people. (We believe Um Chambao is now an event space, as opposed to open to the public, however the sister Beach Club allows for this).
When visiting Palma to pick our wedding venue and day 2 venues, we had the pleasure of enjoying a tasting menu to preview what we would potentially be eating on the day. While all the food was excellent, it is worth noting that we had the food tasting at the sister beach club only next door - although this was made clear to us on the day of tasting, I think its worth pointing out as the sister venue does have a different atmosphere from Um Chambo. Um Chambo is slightly smaller, does not have a pool, and the entrance is not as well decorated.
In order to enter Um Chambao you have to pass through a local children’s slide (quite large) - we worked with Silvia who ensured us that this was not going to be open on our day, which it wasn’t. Once in the venue, the setting is stunning, with well furnished seating areas looking out over the sea - one thing to mention is that we felt the immediate entrance to the venue could do with some similar decorating (from the first entry point to the point where we were socialising, it felt as though there was a gap in decor that could easily be avoided). Once in the venue, it is beautiful, and the bar staff did an excellent job at serving our pre-selected cocktails, wines, beers and soft drinks. The food was also excellent and was a personal highlight of mine - we opted for the sharing style BBQ menu which had chicken, salmon and beef along with many delicious sides. We had spoken to Silvia in the build up the event who informed us that there is a noise limit for the venue (applicable to almost all outside venues in Mallorca). Throughout the day this was not an issue at all, as the sound level accommodated for socialising in and around the venue while maintaining a relaxed and party atmosphere. Where we felt it was a little limiting was in the evening, where we would have liked to have turned the music up so that people could start dancing into the night. Although this is absolutely no fault of the venue or Silvia, who was very informative about the sound levels from the start of the process, I think it’s important to include this in our review. At 8pm-10pm we did have a live performance from Juan and his band, who did a really great job at entertaining our guests.
All in all this is a perfect venue for an event where food, drink and socialising are the main focus of the evening and where a real dance is not expected. Silvia was extremely helpful from start to finish, and the venue delivered everything we asked of them to a very high quality. We would definitely...
