Cappuccino Puerto Portals — Restaurant in Calvià

A big wake up call! We have been coming to Cappuccino in Portals for more than 12 years and this year everything has changed, the waiters and waitresses haven’t got a clue what they are doing. This place used to be special and the waiters and waitress’s were very professional and polished, the previous uniform black and white looked the part, the new uniform looks like they are care workers or nurses. We know so many friends that share the same thoughts. Cappuccino’s used to have a guy that directed the waiters and waitresses and the service used to be spectacular and very personal. We have also noticed that it is so much quieter. We arrived at Cappuccino last night at 12.15 and the waitress eventually came to our table and said “we are now taking last orders and closing soon” what a greeting and how unprofessional, we were aware you close at 01:00 hrs, so why say it was last orders at 00:25 hrs. Don’t be complacent you are loosing clients at a fast rate of knots and I am sure you will know this from this sales. I hope my comments are taken positively and that you can return cappuccino to its original glory.

I regularly come for breakfast and lunch at Cappuccinos. While there are plenty of tables to choose from majority are in the sun. Which is fine. However today there was one table in the shade that someone had just left (literally just left so it wasn’t cleaned) I stood there waiting to get someone’s attention to clean it. No one came so I sat. I then got someone’s attention and asked for the table to be cleaned politely. The waiter then proceeded to tell me off for sitting at an uncleaned table. Saying there are many to choose from. He didn’t just say it once. He said it at least 4 times. I did not touch the table, I sat away from the dishes. I’m shocked by the disgusting attitude of this waiter lecturing me on...

Typical ‘Cappuccino’ Grand Café very nicely situated a little bit behind the first line in Puerto Portals. Biggest outdoor seating area there, views are good but not stunning. As always you get really good cafe and especially postres and cakes. The food is okay, I like their fish and chips. The curry tastes a little bit like convenience food. I can really recommend the French fries, the sandwiches, bocadillos and the burrata. The pasta is okay, the carpaccio is drowned for my personal taste by much truffle oil. The open white wine is good. All in, it is a nice place with really high prices for the food quality but anyhow it is nice...
