Has got to be one of the worst experiences I’ve had during my stay in palma.
It is a trashy nightclub not a restaurant. The sushi tastes horrid but they bring it on dry ice plates to try and distract you from that fact.
The staff are rude, when the person accompanying me has a strict diet and cannot eat certain things. She ordered the things she could eat on the menu and asked repeatedly for all the food to be brought at the same time.
The staff originally acknowledged this. However when the food came they were bringing it one by one.
When the person I was accompanying complained. The manager stated “we are a restaurant to share” as if we have never been to a sushi restaurant.
Absolute horrendous experience. We left early before the end of the meal due to the taste of the food and the service.
It is a trashy night club branding themselves as a high class restaurant.
Edit: I’ve seen the restaurant has replied to my thread. I hope everyone sees how unapologetic, egoistic and disgusting they are from their response.
To start no, I am not mistaken. Yara portals is the unfortunate restaurant I experienced this horrid experience.
If you are familiar with high class sushi spots and Michelin sushi I would highly recommend not going here.
Secondly, I can assure you we did not enjoy our meal. In fact we got a refund and left early. There were many other issues with the restaurant such as seating us next to the wine cart when the restaurant was empty and the food for my companion taking over 1 hour to simply arrive (since they ignored the request to bring all the food at once). However, since this was a while ago I cannot remember all the details.
I had this meal in June and decided to write this review since I forgot during my last stay and remembered after they bombarded my email with spam that I didn’t sign up for (which...

Read moreFood - lovely, clearly a very experienced and capable team of chefs. Price point felt a little toppy, but there is a premium to pay for this level of product and the skill that goes into making it. Service - not great. The staff were too attentive. I like good service, but also to be left alone to enjoy the company and the environment. There was someone at our table every few minutes, moving things around, taking things away, asking questions etc. Great service shouldn’t be that noticeable. Atmosphere - all black decor is nice, but the lighting isn’t great. It was a little dark for our liking. More importantly, the staff were too serious. The atmosphere felt a little tense as a result, which rubbed off on us. Just not our vibe. Issues - my wife’s main course arrived 5-10 mins after mine. To compound the issue, when we did actually want a member of staff to explain where her meal was, or to query the issue, we struggled to find anyone. When her meal did arrive, there was no explanation or apology. Additionally, I ordered a slim tonic and normal arrived. Admittedly, I only noticed it after drinking half the drink, so didn’t bother raising with the staff, but ultimately something like that shouldn’t happen in a restaurant like Yara. Summary - the experience is let down by staff that are too serious and they don’t appear to know how to respond in situations when there are shortfalls (my wife’s main course served at a different time). Concentrate on the basics before worrying about the finer...
