The ambience is nice and cozy, the food overall is alright.

Some of our starters were top notch, but too contradictory to the tastelessness of our mains.

If it were to have been just for the food, my review would’ve been a lot more positive.

The problem I have with this place is the unprofessionalism of the staff, which already starts before even arriving.

A few days ago I placed a reservation for 8pm. At 5pm today I tried to phone the restaurant 3 times to inform them about us likely going to be a bit later. Nobody picked up nor called back.

So I even sent them an email, to do everything I could to inform them. Unfortunately no response here either.

Upon arriving 30 minutes late, the “host” inappropriately and arrogantly reminded me of the fact that we were half an hour late of which we tried everything in our power to let them know.

Still remaining calm, I nicely told him I at least phoned them 3 times to try and inform, upon which he again inappropriately responded by picking up his phone, waving it at me and saying I never called. Ok?

They’re lucky the other 6 people in my party convinced me to stay as I was already about leave.

The staff wasn’t friendly at all, so that didn’t make up for anything either.

Clearly they wanted us to leave asap as the bill was thrown onto the table saying we had 5 minutes to be gone.

While paying the bill I told him clearly the amount we had to pay, on which he decided to add another €20,-, maybe a tip he thought he deserved for his great service?

When being confronted with this, of course again an inappropriate answer was the response as he blamed me for being unclear about the amount.

Hopefully the additional €20,- that was charged will be used to invest in a customer service course for this man.

Definitely not the experience we had expected after reading all the many positive reviews.

Edit: The reason we post a review is so hopefully you can look internally at the problem that occurred, and make sure this never happens again. Obviously they didn’t do anything wrong in their own eyes, and even make up stories that never happened.

Like I said, we tried everything to inform that we were going to be a bit later, which we also then were. 30 minutes. If there’s absolutely no response to us informing, I as the customer that brings you 6 other customers with me and leaves behind money, find we’re absolutely not blame for this. If you were to have picked up the phone once, or replied to the email, the problem of us being “late” in your eyes could’ve been prevented.

We weren’t told that our ‘actual table’ had already been given away, and that they therefore complied to us by giving us another table. At that point we were only the 3rd table entering the restaurant anyway. After the guy waved the phone at me, he simply pointed out our table. No options were given, and therefore nothing by us was rejected?

When seated, the friendly man indeed told that we had the table until 10:30pm. We were more than ready to leave by then, but unfortunately none of the attentive waitress(es) was available to visit our table to start cleaning off our plates in the first place.

To then repeat myself, after 10:15pm the only interaction we had with any of the staff was the friendly host throwing the bill onto the table at 10:56pm telling us we had 5 minutes to leave.

As I said, I took the time for you guys to write this review so hopefully you can prevent this customer experience from ever happening again. There’s so much more potential. Also the reason why I now take the time to reply to your response. Whatever you do with it from here, is up to you.

Putting the blame back on me though however, which by the way isn’t the first, nor second time that this occurred in a very short period of time, isn’t going to help you improve.

But if this is the way you continuously treat you customers, hopefully everyone who reads this will think twice before visiting this place, leaving behind a substantial amount of money for bad service and...

A lovely restaurant, well located on the front in la Barossa. The entrees including pasta, pizza, salmon and beef, were all excellent. The service was excellent on the whole. However, there were a few things that reduced the evaluation what would have otherwise been a five star rating. First, the il segreto bianco was very poor by contrast to the rest of the food. The "white chocolate soup" was sweetened milk that tasted as though it had been stored open in a fridge and so absorbed other flavors, namely onion. In the interest of fairness, we also had the coulant which was excellent. Second, as the sun descended we found ourselves sat in the only location directly in the sunlight. There is a heatwave in the area at the moment August 2025 and the sun is currently intense. Despite obvious efforts to avoid this discomfort no offer of moving us or lowering a blind was made so that we had to play a game of musical chairs so that no one suffered for too long. Finally, a particular bug bear of mine is given bread without asking for it and then being charged for it. This is very bad practice. I want to end on a positive note as this was a decent experience in the whole. Certainly worth a visit and far more positives...

What a find! We were dragging two small, tired and niggly kids round La Barossa. We'd had a lovely holiday but needed a change from the diet of fried fish and insalata mixta. We arrived early without a booking...we were lucky the place for packed from around 21.00 with plenty queuing. The friendly staff found us a table with a high chair. The menu - accessed via a QR code was extensive and varied. Italian but with a focus on local fresh produce. The kids menu was varied. The adults went for insalta buffola with beef carpaccio and truffle oil to start - heavenly. Then a cod ravioli and a beef Ragu, both excellent. Kids had pizza and carbonara, plates were clean. Ice creams as part of kids menu, a couple of beers and coffees for the grown ups. Service was superb, the decor and ambience wouldn't be our of place in London or New York. Easily one of the best Italian meals we've had...and the bill was very attractive. All told a wonderful family meal in upmarket surroundings. Take the parents, take a date or take two picky kids. Highly...

All good. Ok the waiter lost a point because with an empty restaurant he put us in a corner but we don’t want to hold it against him. I just hope he learns it is not a good idea. Service was good, atmosphere also and prices ok to moderate. Honestly this village is not really a gourmet place so this was a pleasant surprise. I am Italian and I think the gnocchi and the amatriciana were quite ok. The carpaccio was not too tasty but the olive oil and lemon dressing was very good. All fine I would come back (and hope to get a better table)
