La Fontana — Restaurant in Ciutadella

To say LaFontana is the best restaurant in Cala en Bosch is an understatement. In my opinion it’s the best restaurant in Menorca and maybe even the world. I can not fault LaFontana in any way what so ever. I recently spent a week in Menorca and I visited LaFontana every single day for breakfast and dinner. The quality of the food is immaculate, for breakfast I would order a club sandwich every morning with the amazing coffee they have (cappuccino) and for dinner I would order the chicken and chorizo sword which tasted fabulous and to wash it down I would drink LaFontanas amazing cocktails (Strawberry Daquiri being my favourite) . The restaurants exterior is beautiful and really well layed out, it’s comfortable relaxing and convenient. The location is amazing with the band stand right beside it to enjoy amazing music as the sun goes down . LaFontana is the perfect place to watch the world go by and to create the most precious memories of your life with your family and lover. I have been busting menorca every year since I am 4 years old and I am now 24 years of age I’ve travelled with family , friends and my girlfriend to menorca multiple times and LaFontana is one of the main reasons I keep coming back . The staff are some of the most amazing people and workers I’ve ever met , you are met with a warm smile and wholesome goodbye every time you visit Lafontana, the staff work at incredible pace and in the heat and for them to meet your every needs is absolutely amazing . Abraham the head staff member has put me in high chairs at the age of 4 and took my order at age 24 he has looked after me for 20 years and every single time he has done an amazing job . We went to this restaurant tonight as a family of four, two adults and two children. My wife chose a chicken and rice dish with mushroom sauce, part way through eating the chicken she found that the vast majority of the chicken was still raw, not just under cooked slightly, but clearly raw. This put us all off our food, with my young son having chicken breast as well. We spoke with a member of staff who was understanding and apologised. We felt like we couldn’t eat our meals so asked for the bill, they knocked off the charge for wife’s meal but were still wanting to charge us for the other meals despite most of the food not being eaten. The manager came over and excused the raw chicken saying it was because the chicken was thick and brushed over the issue without understanding our concerns. After I questioned the charges the manager snatched the receipt and stormed off causing a scene which we did not want and was not looking for. We did not go out looking for a free meal at all, but serving raw chicken is unacceptable and the way the manager dealt with the issue was unprofessional and has completely put us off going back. We have been to Calan Bosch two years in a row now and ate at La Fontana on numerous occasions with our 2 young children. We absolutely loved it here for breakfast - the Philly cheese steak sub is amazing and my kids loved the waffles! The man who we think is the owner/manager there always greeted us with such a friendly, welcoming manner and he even gave my marvel obsessed Son, some top trump spiderman cards on the last night which he was absolutely over the moon with! We also ate here on an evening on our last night and again, we were wowed by the food - a wide variety and so tasty! It is in the perfect location, right on the square so you can listen to the live entertainment and our kids were dancing whilst we enjoyed our drinks!
