I was very much looking forward to eating here, as we are staying in Cala Santandria. On our 3rd night, we ate here but took ages to be served, even though the restaurant was not that busy. Oh well, we thought the wait would be worth it. How wrong could we be - my wife’s pork was fatty whilst my medium - well done fillet steak was literally raw: I’m used to Spanish restaurants undercooking steak (hence asking for medium - well done) but this was ludicrous! Asked for it to be cooked a bite more - or even just a bit - and it came back exactly the same, no sign of ever going near a pan! Left it as inedible but still got charged, despite showing the waitress it was literally still raw. 8 days later, having tried all the other restaurants in Santandria several times, we thought we would give it a second chance. Asked to book a table but told no need, as Sunday night was always quiet. Turned up at 9pm, to be greeted by a queue of people waiting to be seated. The restaurant was about half full but they have a sign out asking you to wait for them to allocate a table for you. The waiter came over, looked over the 8 or 10 people stood at the entrance, then turned around and walked away whereupon he started chatting to a seated diner! Finally said this is ludicrous so went up to another waiter and asked if we could be seated - we were now front of queue as 4 people had walked away! Got a very short ‘we will be with you soon, please wait!’ (this after 15 minutes) so we walked away too. Unbelievable that a supposedly good restaurant, which looks very nice, could be so awful in cooking / customer service. Would suggest you...
Read moreVery nice place lots of choice. Chicken and steak are fantastic (see pictures) roast potatoes and veg are also very nice. Very large selection of desserts including coconut ice cream in a coconut hot waffles and ice-cream and chocolate sauce. Service was very friendly. Clean toilets. Lots of interesting places to sit either inside in the caves or outside under the wooden gazeebos etc see pictures. Very beautiful setting set in the hill. The best environment for eating if you're not too fussed about seeing the sea which is just around the corner anyway. Average pricing but food more than justifies it. Well...
Read moreAs Quadra is a lovely, unusual restaurant, at Santandria beach. Partially set in caves, with a beautiful ambience and rustic decor. Spotlessly clean and we'll run, it's usually busy and larger groups would be advised to book. Menu is extensive and includes lots of traditional menorca dishes. You can choose your own lobster from the fish tank too! My personal favourite is the chicken kebab which is delicious. There is also a childrens menu. Prices are higher than average but I don't mind paying that little bit more for excellent food, fabulous surroundings and customer service which is first class. We'll...
