This place is hilarious, where do we even begin? We waiting outside for a table for perhaps 10 minutes or so in which time zero members of staff acknowledged us or anyone else waiting, a few others in the queue ended up going elsewhere and just as we were about to a member of staff finally acknowledged our existence and so we thought we'd give them the benefit of the doubt and thought perhaps they were just understaffed and busy. However this was only the start, the service was ludicrously slow, and after finally ordered they brought the dish without any of the mushroom sauce on it, finally we got the attention of the waitress who immediately said 'oh you're missing the mushroom sauce' and went off to get it, or so we thought... She never returned. We then flagged down the waiter who took the plate away as it has now gone cold waiting for the mushroom sauce, when the plate returned with a different waitress it was an entirely different dish, that then went back and third time lucky the correct dish arrived. We decided against ordering anything else as the service was so poor so we asked the first forgetful waitress for the bill, she went off to get it and never returned. Turns out she was just over the road smoking a cigarette so we asked the other waitress who eventually brought it over. Maybe they were having an off night but we almost certainly won't be back here, the service was shocking and it was hard...
Read moreWe had a really enjoyable meal at Noray – the location is lovely, and the menu is extensive with something for everyone, from fresh seafood to hearty grilled meats and pizzas. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
We ordered a range of dishes including steak, fish, and a calzone. The grilled meat was well-seasoned and cooked beautifully, and the fish was fresh and crisp. Portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was clean and appetising. The cider was also nicely chilled and refreshing – a great pairing on a warm evening.
The only downside was the calzone, which arrived undercooked in the middle. Unfortunately, it had to be sent back. To be fair, the staff handled it professionally and were happy to replace it, but it was still a letdown given how good the rest of the food was.
Despite that hiccup, we’d still happily recommend Noray. The quality of the food overall was high, prices were reasonable for the area, and the setting made for a pleasant dining experience. Just maybe give the calzone a miss unless they’ve sorted the...
Read moreI cannot fault this restaurant. There's lots of tempting restaurants in the harbour but we chose this one because it had a set menu (starter, main, and dessert) for €16. It was amazing value for the quality. The restaurant was very busy but we managed get the last table. The host at the front (Rubin, I think his name was) was brilliant and it was impressive to see a man who was totally in control of his job without ever writing anything down. It looked like they were under staffed for the amount of people in the restaurant but he navigated, chatted, served and welcomed everyone in the restaurant with no issues at all. Brilliant food/price also, so we'll be going back tomorrow to try out the other pasta and...
