Trattoria Italiana – Deià, Spain
We visited Trattoria Italiana in Deià drawn by its cozy atmosphere and charming setting. While the service was friendly and welcoming, our dining experience had a few ups and downs.
We started with calamari and a Greek salad—both were well-prepared. The calamari was crispy and fresh, and the salad was nicely balanced and refreshing.
However, we encountered two issues with the food. The beef ravioli were disappointing—the texture and flavor didn’t live up to expectations and felt out of place compared to the other dishes. The final course, a pistachio dessert, was the biggest letdown. It had a strong, unpleasant flavor reminiscent of mothballs. When we mentioned it to the waiter, he explained that it was the natural taste of the cookie used in the recipe. Still, for us, it was hard to enjoy.
Despite these issues, the rest of the meal was decent, and the staff remained courteous throughout. Trattoria Italiana has potential, but a few culinary adjustments would go a long way in matching the high standards of its beautiful...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant in Deia, Mallorca having high expectations.
Upon arrival i was told that i had to make a reservation beforehand which i did not know. But thats on me. The waiter told me that the place was fully booked all day and the next 2 days, therefore it was not possible to eat here.
5 minutes later i check on their website and they had many reservation spots that was available. So either they just didn’t want me to eat here or that they just dont know that they have availability…. I also was kind of ignored by the waiter the second time i came when i made a reservation 5 minutes later.
The food was not that good. The taste was ok. But not worth the pricing. I would say that you pay for the scenery more than the food.
I ordered a margarita and pasta. Man that margarita needs rework… it was soggy and tasteless. And i really mean that. The pasta was not that great either. The sauce just did not have that deep taste to it.
Cannot recommend this place based on my...
Read moreI really wanted to give this restaurant five stars, but have landed on four instead. I dined here twice during my time in Deia. The service was very friendly but inconsistent throughout the meal. They seemed unfortunately understaffed to give their customers the attention they deserve. The food was very good but also inconsistent in its quality. The spaghetti con frutti di mare was absolutely delicious my first night (the reason I returned for a second visit) but the next night was void of prawns and arrived cold. The goat cheese salad however was amazing (cheese was grilled to perfection and served with a red pepper sauce) and so made up for the disappointing pasta. I would still recommend this restaurant for its good food and hope that it solves its...
