SUNSET — Restaurant in Finestrat

Visited today for lunch. Gave our order for tapas, table iberian and garlic prawns, followed by calamari with a jug of sangria. We shortly received a basket of toast. Then some 40 mins later after a number of wrong attempts with wrong drinks we received our sangria. After a further 30 mins. We received our table iberian. It then took at least a further 20 mins for my wife's garlic prawns to arrive. Having been in the restaurant for nearly 2 hours our calamari was thrown at us we were lucky the calamari stayed on the plate but the chips went all over the table floor and my wife. No apology was given. Having eaten our calamari we had been in the restaurant for two and a half hours. My wife entered the restaurant to pay and was totally ignored by the waiter whilst two other customers came in and he took their money. We liked the food but the service was abysmal. This place is open. Probably not with the original owners, though. It could be a good place to eat and drink. It's in a great position on the sea front, but the issue is the staff. We have been twice in the last week and both times, the younger waiter (i believe his name is Pepe) spends all his time talking to and flirting with the female Spanish guests, leaving the other staff member to try to run around everyone else like a headless chicken and do all the work. We were going to order food last time, but it was impossible to tear the younger waiter away from chatting to take our order. We gave it up as a bad job in the end and went across the road for pizza. Even taking the money for the bill, the younger guy was surly and couldn't be bothered to bring the change back. His overworked colleague ended up doing it. Avoid if you're not a...

Lovely location and advertised good home cooked food, thought I would try the mixed grill. Waitress came out and we ordered a coffee and water. She seemed flustered and turned to the table behind me and realised they also ordered a water that she had forgotten. Coffee came, not great, we then ordered our meal. We waited 20 mins and I commented to my wife hope the meat is not dry. The food came out, beef very thin, pork the same all the same thickness as the rasher of bacon and very dry. Sausage overdone and chips soggy. Star was the fried egg but the overall meal was awful. Asked for the bill only to be told might take a while as she was serving people inside. After 15 mins I decided to go inside and pay, finding her talking to a couple sitting at a table, no one else inside. Paid the bill and left vowing...
