We took a short bus ride to this lovely town from Benalmadena on a rainy day and planned lunch here as an anchor for a day trip. Great decision!
The kitchen opens at 1pm . We were early but the friendly greeter offered that we could wait and have a drink. The menu de dia was diverse yet simple...we picked a starter, an entree and a side including drink, coffee or dessert for 13 euros each!
The selections went from salads to soups to rice.
I chose the white bean stew and my wife had the meat ball sopa...both were very basic and traditional. Tasty with fresh local ingredients.
For my main I had pork sauteed with onions and green peppers with potatoes while mi esposa enjoyed the fried hake and a green salad.
Portions were generous and the flavours were traditional and executed well. Tender!
We each finished with a coffee.
I had a beer and my wife had a glass of white wine. Total: 28 euros including alcohol.

We left stuffed and vowed to come back before we head...

I recommend greatly, if you want an...

Open from breakfast until mid afternoon the Menu del Dia is in my view the star turn. On my last visit I chose Gazpacho, Cerdo and Flan washed down with a Victoria. All for less than 15€. The quality was outstanding and the service, despite the place being very busy, was first class. It's well worth a visit - I just hope that this review doesn't make the queue...
