I'm a bit torn. I had been meaning to try this place for years - The first time I went was about 1 month ago. It was a busy weekend, but I was a party of one, and they slotted me in. I have been wanting "real" ribs for a very long time, so I ordered the ribs. That was probably my mistake - after living in the USA for a very long time, and the last place being Texas, perhaps I should not have started with ribs. It is very clear that the chef knows how to cook meat, the temperature control and doneness were 'perfect' for soft but moist ribs - unfortunately, the way they were cooked would have given a beautiful sear, full of flavor - had the chef used a sauce, a rub, a something. I took them home and made amazing breakfast tacos with the meat.
Because the ribs were cooked so well, I wanted to try again. The dry-rub chicken looked amazing, so I decided to try the chicken. I arrived in the middle of the week, I think it was a tuesday, or wednesday. It was busy, but nothing like when I arrived over the weekend. It was also close to opening hour, so there was a small queue of people outside. I informed the lady at the front that I was a party of one. She told me that she did not know when I would be able to sit. I asked her if she could narrow it down, 30minutes, 3 hours? That's when she asked for my phone number and told me she did not know (30m, 3hours, not at all). I explained that my phone number was foreign and not +34. She understood and asked for it anyway. I've lived in Spain long enough to know that it's highly unlikely I'd ever get a call - I think I know 3 businesses in total on the Costa del Sol who are even capable of calling a foreign number, and two of them use WhatsApp. I left and ate dinner elsewhere. (no, they never contacted me)
I can't help but be disappointed. It really feels like she just wanted me gone, as I was an annoyance for her that day. I'd have been much happier if they just told me "no seats tonight" - instead of going through the motions -- If you can't tell me if I'll even get a seat, for one person, in a four-hour window, what's the point? Then, to take my phone number, and as expected, never contact me. What else...
Read moreThis pub was a pleasant surprise for two tired tourists! Their specialty seems to be baked potatoes in Their jackets that come with a huge variety of sauces you can choose to top them. We chose garlic aioli which was to die for! The potatoes are baked in a big black barrel shaped baker. All the meats are grilled over open coals and taste like they bust came off the BBQ. We ordered a pork skewer that was more like a sword with at least four big hearty chunks of tender pork, a tomato, and pieces of pepper. To add to the plate was two big pieces of lettuce hearts that were delicious with their dressing. We also ordered a big prawn salad which was amazing with generous amounts of fresh shrimp or prawns and corn and greens and beautiful ripe tomatoes and cucumber. We shared everything and had two beer for under 30€ which was perfect for us. The quantities are generous and the BBQ meat delicious and a baked potatoes like you have never tasted before. I’d highly recommend this cute place but you may have to wait a few minutes...
Read moreI so want to give this place a higher rating. The food is great. However the greeting from staff is appalling. We have tried so many times to be friendly, kind, chatty (in spanish to our best ability) yet we are always met with the most rude attitude of staff. Always ignored on arrival. Always waiting to be served, always trying as hard as we can to be as happy and as polite. But it's like ice. Is it because we are not Spanish? Such a shame totally love the food and could recommend you to so many people. Please be nicer to others I'm sure we will be totally slated for.our comment but seriously we could be spending alot more here if the approach was...
