I'll give one star for the reason that it's impossible to give 0 stars. First impressions, waiter was cold and abrubt - not friendly at all. Paper placemats were handed to us at the table as well as some sticky menus that were falling apart. We ordered food - antipasti as a main for my daughter who was not very hungry and prefers smaller food items, basil and pine nut spaghetti for myself, and a calzone for my partner (calzone fillings chosen were ham, mushroom, and pepperoni + tomato and basil sauce). Food arrived quickly - I suppose for that they've earned their star. However it went swiftly further downhill from there. I don't know if the owners or chefs know much about Italian food, but a plate of 3 sliced meats, a tiny bowl of dry olives, and 2 plastic packets of bread sticks is neither an adequate antipasti nor good service, and for €12 it's certainly not good value. No bread? No olive oil and balsamic vinegar? Tomatoes? Salad of any description? Very disappointing. On first inspection of my basil and pine nut spaghetti there were no pine nuts to be seen, until I moved some pasta away from the bottom of the plate and was able to see a few tiny fragments of crushed nut. My partners calzone contained lots of ham, a few bits of pepperoni, 4 slices of mushroom and about a teaspoon of tomato sauce. It looked unappetising and he said it was the worst calzone/pizza he had ever had and so dry it was a struggle to eat it. If it wasn't for the fact we were all starving and too tired for a confrontation we would have left. After our leftovers were taken away (nobody asked if we enjoyed the meal at any point), our waiter returned to toss a dessert menu face down on the end of our table. We paid and left without a word being spoken to us. Would NOT visit again and do...
Read moreNot sure where all these good reviews are coming from. We got a table straight away because it was empty. It then took over 15 minutes for anyone to serve us even for a drink. The pizza was rock hard when it came out , the crust was like concrete. If it wasn’t for the fact that everyone was hungry and just ate for that reason alone we would have left straight away. We are locals in the area and we have tried lost restaurants in town and we would never...
Read moreAfter a hiatus of some years, "O Mamma Mia" re-opened under the leadership of Mauro, son of one of the original founders who started the pizzeria in 1972. The O Mamma Mia has been one of our favorite restaurants in Fuengirola since 1975, always because of the great food and great staff. We went there on the second day of operation (May 18, 2024) after the hiatus and it was like coming home. Very much...
