Booked in for a group of 6 people after reading the set menu advertised which sounded great. When we ordered we were told they weren't doing the set menu after 8pm, even though we had checked with the waitress before ordering. The manager made a remark about her being new (snide to throw your own, new staff under the bus, but whatever) and I argued that this was misleading and asked if they would give us the set menu. He begrudgingly agreed, and it was downhill from there. The starters were poor- 5 small prawns in the pil pil- and we had been at the restaurant over 2 hours before our mains arrived. We had to ask several times where our food was (it wasn't busy) and each time no one came back to update us. Most of us had chips with our main and the potato was raw. My brother ordered the pork knuckle and it was so fatty. me and my partner ordered the steak and we literally received half a steak each, you could see where it had been cut in half (some kind of revenge for ordering off the set menu?) We complained and the manager told us he 'disagreed' and in a rude manner removed all of our plates. It was that bad, we asked for the food to be taken off the bill. They served us the drinks bill and we left hungry. It used to be brilliant here, gorgeous food and presentation but it has obviously changed hands, for the worse. Do yourself a favour and go to one of the many brilliant restaurants...
Read moreUnfortunately last night the visit was disappointing. Aroma used to be one of my favourite restaurants in the area. Despite the high prices the food felt like a treat. The food used to be full of flavour and class. Last night we got the deluxe menus. The food was bland to say the least. Even though the salmon steak was full of tiny bones (which was not a nice surprise), it was still falling apart on the plate like jelly. I felt sick the entire night after eating it. Not sure when will be the next time of me eating salmon anywhere. The portions were small. The dessert that was so beloved, their famous Pavlova, was sticking to the jaws. It was difficult to chew, as well as to cut the actual merengue, which was surrounded by berries that were still frozen. For the price that we paid (€85 for 3 people) the food was not worth it. We didn’t even order alcoholic drinks, it was just one bottle of water per person. I really hope that this will be taken into consideration and the prices will be either lower for what they actually have to offer. Otherwise, please make sure your food actually satisfies the prices you put on your menus. Thanks A LOT for the experience that used to be there last time we came. It’s a shame that all we left with last night was...
Read moreNestled in a charming brick-walled corner, Aroma strikes a perfect balance between cozy ambiance and elevated dining. The warm, softly-lit interior invites guests to linger over conversation, while the open terrace offers a more casual, relaxed atmosphere—ideal for enjoying a Mediterranean evening.
The standout dish of the evening was a beautifully plated salad featuring baked goat cheese as its centerpiece. It was accompanied by fresh greens, vibrant cherry tomatoes, sweet grapes, citrus slices, sunflower seeds, and delicate strips of red and yellow pepper—all tied together with a hint of balsamic drizzle. The crisp seed cracker and sweet chutney topping the cheese added both texture and complexity. This dish was not only a visual delight but a well-balanced mix of savory, sweet, and tangy.
Service seemed attentive yet unobtrusive, as evidenced by the content expressions and wine-filled glasses of the dining group. The setting encourages a convivial, intimate dining experience, ideal for groups or a relaxed date night.
In summary, Aroma offers refined cuisine with thoughtful presentation in a warmly lit, inviting space. It’s a place where food, ambiance, and good company come together...
