L'Arcada — Restaurant in Girona

It is a tourist trap - staff "herds" passing tourists on the street tempting them on what seems like reasonably priced menu. The food was average at best - I had pasta carbonara, which happens to be one of my favorites. What I got was not terrible, but had nothing to do with pasta carbonara. What made it a horrible experience was the service and the staff. Almost every piece was done by a different person, some of them annoyed, some of them even arrogant and without at least an impression of manners you would expect from a waiter. (For example waiter almost through used fork back from the plate she was taking away back on the table so that she would not have to bring a new one, etc.) The whole thing ended up by an attempt to steal some of the money they were supposed to return. It was very obvious this was not done by a mistake and what's worse, it was obviously done with cooperation of the chief waiter.

My advise is to avoid this place - there is plenty of restaurants in Girona, where you will have better food, MUCH better service and it will cost you the same. This might easily...

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant in Girona. The outdoor terrace was lovely — spacious and breezy, which was perfect for the hot weather. It made the whole meal feel even more enjoyable.

The food was excellent. The veal milanesa was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the burrata was fresh and delicious. Everything we tried was spot-on.

What really made the difference was the service. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome from start to finish.

I would absolutely come back and highly recommend it to anyone...

Good food with plenty of outdoor seating. Priced a little high for the quality/quantity. I ordered the margherita pizza which was lovely, though I would have liked a bit more flavor (perhaps more basil or some fresh tomato) - my friend ordered the four cheese gnocchi which was also delicious. We ordered beers, water, and later some sangria. They never ended up bringing the water and it was hard to flag down our waiter when we wanted the check, but he seemed to have a lot of tables at the time. Overall an enjoyable experience...
