Octopus Pompeu Fabra — Restaurant in Girona

The food was tasty (supposing that one is loving seafood) and very well cooked. Also, we went for the staff recommendation about the food (grilled, oven or otherwise cooked, depending on customer's selection). It is true about the starters (that, in general they are on the same price as the main dishes), but you are asked in a very friendly way if you go for them or not. And everything is weighted...so, all in one : fresh (kept on ice) food, well cooked, friendly staff (English speaking) and prices, accordingly. But...may I ask: when you have all these positives, why somebody is expecting for a cheap value? Ah, by the way: this location is not in a good place. Meaning that is not in the old city...merely is at the exit of a parking place. So, I believe that is loosing on this...but, again, is a small gem that might be discovered and...

Estafa relació, qualitat preu nefast.

Adjuntem el tiquet perquè pugueu jutjar per vosaltres mateixos sí és normal pagar 44€ per 4 escamarlà i 58€ per 12 gambes mida mitja , per no parlar de les 20-25 cloïsses a la planxa amb oli i sal. Jutgeu vosaltres mateixos si val la pena o és raonable pagar 200€ per un sopar amb una copa de vi i sense postres. Sincerament, el dia que estigui disposada a pagar aquest preu prefereixo pagar en una estrella Michelin.

Per cert, no havia explicat que anàvem totalment confiats i no havíem demanat preus, ja que el sistema del restaurant és primer comprar el peix i després te'l cuinen i fa un parell de mesos havíem anat una colla de 7 persones i no havíem arribat a pagar ni 40€/pp. Què serà que la temporada turística els preus pugen desproporcionadament? No recomano, ni tornaré.

Scam, terrible price-quality ratio.

We attach the receipt so you can judge for yourself whether it is normal to pay €44 for 4 king prawns and €58 for 12 shrimp, not to mention the 20-25 grilled clams with oil and salt. Judge for yourself if it is worth it or reasonable to pay €200 for a dinner with a glass of wine and no dessert. Honestly, the day I am willing to pay this price I prefer to pay in a Michelin star.

By the way, I had not explained that we were totally confident and had not asked for prices, since the restaurant's system is to first buy the fish and then they cook it for you and a couple of months ago we had gone with a group of 7 people and we had not even paid €40/pp. What if the tourist season prices rise disproportionately? I do not recommend, nor will I return.

Je joins le ticket de caisse pour que vous puissiez juger par vous-même s'il est normal de payer 44 € pour 4 grosses crevettes et 58 € pour 12 crevettes, sans compter les 20 à 25 palourdes grillées à l'huile et au sel. Jugez par vous-même si cela vaut la peine ou si cela est raisonnable de payer 200 € pour un dîner avec un verre de vin et sans dessert. Honnêtement, le jour où je suis prêt à payer ce prix, je préfère payer dans un restaurant étoilé.

Au fait, je n'avais pas expliqué que nous étions totalement confiants et n'avions pas demandé les prix, car le système du restaurant est d'acheter d'abord le poisson, puis de le cuisiner. Il y a quelques mois, nous étions allés avec un groupe de 7 personnes et nous n'avions même pas payé 40 € par personne. We were looking for a seafood place that resonates with our Mediterranean background and Octopus did not disappoint. You get to choose the fresh seafood you want and how you want it cooked. Thé items are weighed and the weight/price is displayed on the screen in front of you. In addition, they have items menu you can choose from paellas and appetizers. We got some grilled squid, octopus paella, small fried fish, mussels, salmon tartar, razor clams, and a shrimp and garlic appetizer - all of which was good. The service was very attentive and receptive to feedback. Only one appetizer wasn’t hot enough and they gladly took it back to the kitchen to fix. The deserts were okayish.
