Sinofos restaurant/Gerona, ordered baked oysters, not bad, fatty, rich, in sauce, in general liked, then, bread with tomato, fresh, but tasteless, pitied tomatoes and after we choosed two appetisers, one of them was out of the menu, so ended with another option, one from tomatoes, tomatoes are not bad, farm growned, but the portion is very small, 5-6 small slices of tomatoes, sprinkled breadcrumbs on top, did not like it, because I did not try the taste because of the small portion, the second appetiser is from octopus, cooked well, at least the octopus is chewed, there is nothing else to say.
The second dish is a signature Sinofos burger with fries, before ordering they did not ask the degree of roasting of the cutlet and for some reason they brought by default rare, which was immediately reported to the waiter, there was no reaction, waiter just shrugged the shoulders. We didn't finish eating the burger, and strangely in this level of the restaurant, the administrator had to come right away and clarify what they didn't like about the burger and how they could fix it. Minced meat with veins and a small bone came across. The burger was not finished. Silence in general from restaurant stuff, the burger bun is not bad.
And the last dish that was ordered is LYO meat steak, 1-1.3 kg, immediately specified the degree of roasting - medium, but for some reason they brought medium rare. Complete request ignorance.
The steak didn't impress me either, before ordering a steak I clarified that a piece of meat was definitely being chewed. Also, the meat was not finished and left behind, which also did not follow any reaction from the restaurant, you can see that owners are sharpening of making money and on people’s flow.
We didn't stay for dessert, in general, my honest rating is 3+ and for the service and the attempt to make a service, by the way, when we made a reservation, we ordered a certain table for two, upon arrival it was already given to somebody else, not professionally, the coffee was served warm, which was already alarming.
The Michelin star was rather given out not for food, but for trying to get closer to the ideal.
The total bill came out to 275 euros, 10 euros I included in the bill as a tip for service, a total of 285 and 275 euros are wasted.
The guys need to improve and take into account every stage of the work of a restaurant of this level and not chase money if they want to develop further.

Read moreThe service was very slow and, the somelier, disrespectful.
We ordered 5 starters and 1 main (the steak). It took +2h before we got served the steak. I could be understanding if it wasn’t for the fact that the table next to us got there later, ordered more food than us and got served their steak before us. When we were asked if we wanted dessert, I asked how long it would take as the other dishes took so long. Then the sommelier, instead of apologizing, replied “2h is what it normally takes when I go dinning out” and left. Then another waitress come with the dessert menu. I told her she could take that back and tell the other waiter he had been rude. None at the restaurant did absolutely anything to correct the situation and I still had to wait another 15min to get the bill.
The food was good but you can get excellent food and a much better service at many places in Girona. I’m sorry for the chef but first...
Read moreOne of the best value places in Girona for what you get. At €50 a head, we ate very well and left with a huge smile on our faces. Waiting staff are friendly and multilingual. They were helpful and reasonably knowledgeable. Marc the chef-propriataire was there and was super friendly and always had time to chat. The food was superb, yes, expensive for Catalunya as a whole but in terms of value, it's up there with the best. It thoroughly deserves a Michelin star and how it doesn't have a sol in the Repsol guide is beyond me. Everything we had was at a one star Michelin level and they had a good wine list to match, which again, was great value.
It's been the best place we've been to so far in Girona and is heavily underrated in my opinion. We've yet to go to the likes of Divinum, Nexe, Ditifet and Tarrom, let alone El Celler but they all have a huge bar to attain to match SiNoFos.
Can't...
