El Higo — Restaurant in Granada

I laughed at a different review that stated “this was the best meal I have ever had”. Then I came here. The critique was not far off. This place is wonderful. It is fun to find and tucked away in a perfect spot. When you arrive, do not worry, they have great inside seating and outside. They have a great atmosphere. They have great service…. And…. They have really great food. This place is an absolute must. It is right for those who are hip and fun. It isn’t fancy… it is delicious though and simple and high quality. We left smiling ear to ear. This is a hidden gem that should not be missed. I cannot leave a better review for them. Bravo… great for lunch and a laid back dinner:)

We didn’t really understand what it happened in this restaurant. We were really happy to try this place that it looked great when we walked around. We always take positive in each places. The terrace is nice and we feld good. We were polite and smilled. We don’t speak spanish very well but we tried the must as possible but the staff was not very friendly. When we ask for drink, we realise that everyone but us as free tapas for the same drink. When we ordured two burgers, i asked for a glass of wine that will never come. The vegeterian burger was not really good. Mine was good, but costed 50 cent more that indicated on the menu. Maybe there was an understanding, or we did something wrong without notice it. But we felt bad and not really welcoming and finaly we stayed less...

Very rarely in life do you walk into a place where you are captivated by the mystery and ambience of a place. This restaurant tucked away in Albaicin, Granada is enchanting, the combination of the warmth of the staff and the excellence of the food and cocktails is on another level. I can honestly say, the salmon tataki is the best salmon i have ever tasted in my life, for real. The cod au gratin is the most unique and tastiest fish i have ever tasted in my life, it literally melts in your mouth. The enselada Higos Feta y bacon was magnificent. The negroni was the best I've ever had. Alvaro the chef and host is the man, and has one of the best laughs you will ever hear. If your reading this, this is not a paid promotion.
