La Cueva de 1900 / Santa Ana — Restaurant in Granada

We stopped at this restaurant after going to the nearby Hammam. It's a great location, sitting outside on a nice day. We started inside as there weren't any outside tables, but even before we ordered a table opened abs we were able to go out. The service was good, not great. They rushed when they didn't need to (putting the tapas on the table, using a napkin as a dish and the bread came off of it and onto the table) and when you wanted something it was a little difficult to get their attention (asking for catsup and not getting it). The food was good. I got the premium hamburger with wagyu beef. I'm GF and they didn't have gf buns so I got it with no bun. I should have asked for a bed of lettuce, but I forgot. Usually most places do this automatically in the US. No big deal though. My burger was cooked more week done than the medium I asked for, but better to be over cooked than to be under cooked. My husband got the turkey premium sandwich and he said his was really good. The sauce was really tasty and we asked for a couple more figuring we would use it as a condiment for the French fries. And they charged us 1€ each for the extra sauce. They also tried to serve us a glass of wine twice, by 2 different waiters, but we weren't drinking and didn't want it. They took it away each time and we checked the bill to make sure we weren't charged for it. We were, but they did deduct it. We got 1 small bottle of sparkling water. The...

I went because I was really hungry and the place was nice, really, but when I got there, I ordered my food and the waitress, with apathy, started eating next to us, the restaurant workers, starting to talk loudly and making jokes, interrupting the sacred meal time. I just wanted to eat my ribs (very dry by the way) and I heard the Venezuelan singing and literally perreando next to me while he was laughing his head off. I identified that he was Venezuelan because he kept exclaiming "Marica!" out loud while we were eating. As a customer, I felt extremely uncomfortable and disappointed. I don't expect to see scenes like this in a restaurant, which should prioritize respect and attention to its diners. Juli 2025 Nach einem hinreißenden Flamenco-Abend in Sacromonte ließen wir den Abend in der La Cueva de 1900 an der Plaza Santa Ana ausklingen – ein Ort, den wir bereits vor einigen Jahren besucht hatten. Diesmal wirkte alles frischer, besser organisiert und deutlich gastfreundlicher. Offenbar hat sich die Bewirtschaftung geändert – und das zum Positiven. Lage und Atmosphäre Das Restaurant liegt zentral an der Plaza Santa Ana, direkt neben der gleichnamigen Kirche und am Beginn der Acera del Darro – einer der schönsten Flaniermeilen Granadas. Von unserem Platz aus konnten wir das bunte Treiben beobachten: Touristen, Einheimische, Musiker und Straßenkünstler – ein lebendiges Panorama, das den Charme der Stadt perfekt einfängt. Service und Gastfreundschaft Der Service war ausgezeichnet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Aufmerksamkeit des Personals, das uns verschiedene Flaschenweine zur Verkostung anbot – ein Service, den man selten erlebt. Für Weinliebhaber wie uns war das ein echtes Highlight. Die Beratung war kompetent und herzlich, und wir fühlten uns rundum gut aufgehoben. Küche und Angebot La Cueva de 1900 bietet eine Mischung aus traditioneller spanischer und mediterraner Küche mit modernen Akzenten. Zu den Spezialitäten zählen hausgemachte Wurstwaren, Salmorejo, Croquetas del Mar und Patatas Bravas – alles frisch zubereitet und geschmacklich überzeugend.
