Taberna La Espera — Restaurant in Granada

I would never expect such a great restaurant near a touristy attraction. We found this place based on Google ranking and proximity to Alhambra palace. The food was far exceeding our expectations. Tomato salad with Sardine was very tasty. Grilled squid was very juicy and tender. Pork cheek was so delicious that we cleaned all the gravy with bread. The restaurant owner is really nice. He speaks better English than I do Spanish, and he was extremely friendly and accommodating. This is so valuable during a family vacation.

We got the oxtail, the carrillada (pork cheeks), tomato + anchovy, and the fried anchovies. The oxtail and the tomato + anchovy were the best.
