Located in a small plaza within Albaicín, Meson El Yunque is one of 4 restaurant bars in the area. A stone's throw away from a beautiful sightseeing point, we enjoyed our lunch with the charming sounds of guitar and french horn from a nearby group. We had the chef's reccomended Bacalao con Tomato and Spanish Omelette. The tomato paste on the crispy cod fish was perfect, not too sweet or sour; the sweet grilled green capsicums by the side paired brilliantly with the salted fish. The food was very good, and at reasonable prices, with very friendly and helpful serving staff. We paid €58 for a meal for 2 with wine. Be aware that the portions can be quite large though. Worthwhile to check with the waitress that you are not ordering too much. Although this is in a touristy area, this is not a tourist ‘rip-off’ place....
Read moreThis was the best food we had in Granada! Lovely setting in a relatively peaceful plaza in the Albaizin, not far from the city centre but much better atmosphere. Delicious and very reasonably priced, the staff were so friendly and accommodating (unlike some other places !) and service was fast but not rushing you. Try the tataki salmon salad and the spinach and goats cheese croquettes! Wish we could go back and try more...
