Staff: all so friendly, welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable about Granada.

Hotel: The hotel itself is an old convent and when it was turned into a hotel and expanded they preserved a lot of the history. It is really special to see. The hotel is very central to all attractions you may want to explore in Granada. The location is perfect. We were not disturbed by road noise at all. Our windows faced the street, but they had double glassed shutters over them so no issues with sleeping. The only noise we heard was louder voices in the hallway. It wasn’t late at night or anything which was great, but it was a little odd to be hearing that in a hotel. We remembered that this is a very old structure that was converted so some parts that were preserved could possibly be a bit thinner when it comes to noise canceling, but honestly, it was very minimal for us...I just wanted to mention it to be fully transparent for this review.

Room: Our 4th floor king room was clean and spacious. The mattress was a bit firm for my preference, but we still enjoyed several good nights of rest. We had a nespresso machine which was awesome. The robes and slippers were very comfortable. We had a shower tub combo and the tub is huge! Definitely room to enjoy a bath.

Dining:The dining experience is exceptional and we felt the prices were very reasonable considering. The wait staff are very professional and really add to the upscale dining experience. The courtyard dining area is so refreshing and beautiful in the evening. Notice: portions for most dishes are smaller especially when you are in this caliber of dining. It’s not going to be a plate stuffed of food. The kitchen’s artisanal skill is displayed on each plate with patterns and designs out of sauces (or salsa as called in Spain). It is the perfect amount for the quality that is served.

*Favorite Food/Drink: -trio de pans : These are their sliders, you can get one type or try the trio which includes all 3 options. They are all delicious but the one on the yellow curry bread is amazing! -We had the Seabass and the Tuna for dinner...superb! -the chocolate cake thing for dessert was divine. It was so rich...it makes sense why the portion is smaller than you would expect. After we both enjoyed it along with another dessert (the donut) we were definitely satisfied. It was just enough to top off the dining experience without feeling over stuffed. -the bombom cafe was delicious. Very sweet with the...

The good:

  1. Interesting backstory since it was a convent.
  2. Kind staff members at the front desk who were all helpful, especially Natasha.
  3. The building is very pretty & is centrally located in Granada.

The bad:

  1. The quality is extremely out of step with the price. If you’re paying over € 150 a night I’d say you’re getting a bad deal here. Don’t do it.
  2. Cleanliness issues. I’m Titanium & in the first, upgraded room I was put in, the shower had multiple hairs stuck to its wall from prior guests. Eww.
  3. Noise issues. The upgraded rooms in the old convent section are worse for noise than the rooms in the modern part of the hotel, oddly. That’s because they overlook a courtyard where the restaurant is located, so it’s a kind of amphitheater echo chamber. Extremely loud. You’ll here diner until midnight, events, etc. On my second night, I asked to be transferred to a quieter room even if it was a downgrade. I was then put in the modern section. Much quieter than the upgraded convent/courtyard rooms, but still too noisy in my view.
  4. AC issues. The AC was good in the noisy upgraded room but bad in the modern room. In neither room can you digitally set the temperature. It felt really 90s/ old school. I woke up sweating.
  5. Room service issues. I tried to order room service in my upgraded room. The phone did not connect me to anyone other than reception, and I had to try 3x through reception for them to put me through successfully. Also not a great room service menu.
  6. Dingy issues. The upgraded rooms are oddly in much worse shape in terms of upkeep than the modern rooms. Paint chipping etc.
  7. Lighting issues. You can’t dim the lights or create evening ambiance. It’s all or nothing. The whole place in terms of AC & electricity feels user unfriendly & from the 90s. Needs an upgrade in these respects.
  8. Cheap robes. For the price & luxury marketing of the hotel, robes should feel nicer than the AC Madrid Atocha but they don’t.

Front desk staff & baggage help were so kind that I’d love to rate higher. But these problems are pretty inexcusable for any hotel especially one...

While the property has a lot of potential, there were several aspects of my stay that were disappointing.||The suite I stayed in, while spacious, was uncomfortable. The noise level from both the hallway and street made it difficult to sleep. I found the bed a bit too firm for my liking, and while the pillow was good, I couldn’t get restful sleep. There was street noise all night from motorcycles and cars right outside the windows, which disrupted any sense of atmosphere or tranquility inside. The duvet in the suite was too warm, and without the option to open the windows due to the outside noise, the temperature felt stifling.||The breakfast offered the basics, but the quality left much to be desired. The breakfast attendant was rude—when I arrived, the area was still being set up 20 minutes after the supposed opening time of 07:00. When I peeked through the curtain to see if I could get a look inside, the attendant walked over and aggressively closed the curtain tighter. There was a noticeable contrast in how the attendant treated a Spanish couple, giving them all smiles, while I received a frosty reception. Not a great start to the day.||The lobby’s decor was a strange letdown for such a lovely building. The cheap-looking wood wallpaper on the ceiling felt out of place and tacky.||On a positive note, I really enjoyed the courtyard—it was a peaceful spot. ||The check-in process was seamless, and the staff were very accommodating.||I would have rated the hotel higher if there was a way to balance temperature control with noise.||Overall, while the hotel has so much potential with its historic charm and beautiful building, the issues with noise, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, and lackluster service in certain areas made my stay less enjoyable. It’s a shame because with some improvements in these areas, this could be a fantastic...

I am a Bonvoy Titanium member and I stayed here in September 2019 with my wife and baby. Hotel is both lovely, and a bit basic at the same time. The employees are very friendly and the location is very central in "downtown" Granada. Booked a standard king room for 163 EUR per night (including taxes). Was upgraded to a Junior Suite in the old part of the hotel. However, we have our crawling / standing baby and the room had a big step down to get into the room and then a sunken bedroom so it didn't work for us as the little one would be constantly bonking her head. They showed me two other rooms and we settled on a suite on the 4th floor in the newer part of the hotel. Although I was bummed to not be in the old section, this was actually more convenient as the elevator went straight from lobby to our floor without having to push a stroller over cobbled pathways. I think the second room was also a Junior Suite but this one had a completely separate living room which was fantastic with the baby. It also had a pull out sofabed. Breakfast is a delicious buffet. Cold items are free for Platinum / Titanium and you can order hot egg dishes (and other items) from the hot menu for 4 EUR to 7 EUR per item. There was no hot buffet area when we were there. Buffet was pretty good and beautifully presented. But was very carb heavy and sadly most of the yogurt was sweetened :-( Overall we enjoyed our stay, the room worked well for us and the location was fantastic for this two night visit to Granada. No special extra treats or additional amenities to recognize Titanium Bonvoy status were left in our room. BTW, my overall sense is that with a modest overhaul, this property could be a Luxury Collection. Bedding, furniture, fixtures was lower quality but could easily be upgraded. The property is just so pretty (see photos).

Great hotel in a great location. Quick walk to the cathedral and the city center’s rabbit warren of narrow streets lined with restaurants and shops. Our shuttered windows opened over the Grande Villa, allowing our historically appointed, beamed-ceilinged room to be cooled by the evening breeze. The lobby is elegant yet comfortable. But what’s really impressive is the level -1 courtyard, restaurant room, and breakfast room. We first saw the restaurant room at night from the top of the stairs. No one was around. It was dimly lit and beautiful, almost breathtaking and a bit eerie and church-like. We walked down the stairs and found the elegant breakfast room, the walls of which are lined with glass-fronted library bookcases garnished with old books. Both dining rooms open onto the colonnaded courtyard. The structure was formerly a monastery, so I expected to see monks cruising the courtyard and colonnaded balcony above, chanting prayers, as is their habit, but had to settle for the portraits of popes on the dining room wall. The staff was very friendly, spoke excellent English, and was a great help. Highly recommended. John Hornick/YouTube’s Chef’s Apprentice
