Tldr: be careful with the seafood you order, I was served a bad clam and the owner got upset with me for tearing up while trying to stop from throwing up.
I do want to say that this restaurant was a very authentic Granada experience. Our waitress was very kind and tried to take care of us. The tapas section of the bar is fun (very very loud).
What happened was we ordered the razor clams. They were pretty good, basic herb butter. However, one of the clams was bad, it must have been dead before being cooked because it tasted horrible (different from the rest) and it was full of sand and maybe seawater? I immediately pulled the bite out of my mouth and was gagging and spitting into my napkin. I felt really nauseous, couldn't get the taste of of my mouth. I honestly thought I was going to throw up in the restaurant. Went to the toilet a couple times to splash water on my face and in case I threw up.
When this happened, I was also crying a little just from trying to keep everything down and the stress and embarrassment of this happening in a restaurant. Our waitress was kind, tried to make sure I was okay. However, the owner Rodri kept saying that it was normal for the clams to be like that, just a little sand. He tried to make light of it, saying it was fine when it wasn't. Then, he started calling me weird "rara" for crying, saying there was something wrong with me. We had already paid for the food, I just wanted a few more minutes to sit, try to sip water and feel slightly less nauseous.
In the end we left before finishing our aperitifs because he had come over to the table and was shaming me for crying.
I've been sick for the rest of the afternoon and evening, it feels like there's a pit...
Read moreI can't say enough about this place, it has been a highlight of food and fun on our Spain trip so far, it is great service from fun people, get a place at the bar and enjoy the show, I thank James Blick from Spain Revealed YouTube channel for directing us here. We came 2 days in a row, the manager is an entertainer, and the staff so helpful so fun. Yesterday we had small boiled shrimp the flavour was amazing as well as the paella tapas that may be the best we have had. Then we ordered large shrimp with cod fish in garlic olive oil. When we ate everything using bread to soak up every drop in the bowel they rang the bar bell to celebrate our achievement. Today we had a big tuna belly steak fresh caught today, we eat well in life, but this was amazing, like Wagu beef. It is non stop fun, good times, nice people and great food here every day! Really come and enjoy and feel part of the fun in Granada. If I have advice for this place and others. Get in the mix, don't sit outside or in the far corner get front and center, take part in the fun, buy your server and the boss a drink and let the fun surround you, man did we...
Read moreRodri and his "family" he has made in this bar, is the craziest guys you'll ever meet! it's for sure one of the best Tapas bars in Granada, even if you focus just on the food, it's clearly the best place for fish in Granada, it's a Tapas that specializes in fish, but you'll know that for the first step in through the door! they have so much fish! and a lot of it is even some of the premium stuff that can be hard to find or at least expensive in other cities, and did I mention that you'll get that for free!? when you order a drink! talking about that, they have some interesting drinks to choose from, but let's just keep it to the wines for now, it may look like they don't fill up the glasses, but no, it's just a gigantic glass, they use for still points, surely an experience on it's own. However, while enjoying your giant glass of wine, and free seafood, be careful you don't talk too much with Rodri! he may just poor more stuff on you...
