The restaurant could not find our booking, despite the fact that we called in person in the afternoon and made the booking arrangements. None the less a table was found for us but you could sense that the attitude of the staff was parapet strange and not very friendly to say the least. We wanted to have fresh fish but were told all that was available was pollock. Our order was rushed and that was the end of it, we felt our fate was decided for us rather than having a helpful assist in the process. We had to call back and ensure we had a starter as well. They were not busy or overwhelmed, when our fish arrived the presentation left a lot to be desired, there was no seasoning in evidence and when we asked for some it took ages to arrive. The potatoes looked as if they were left standing for some time and tasted as if they were reheated at the last minute We did not expect fine dining standards, but this is suppose to be one of the best fish restaurants in the area. I beg to differ and will not re visit as there are in our view better and friendlier...
Read moreThis is really an excellent fish restaurant. Friendly waiters (are they the same family?) and quickly prepared, no excessive waiting and eating bread meantime! We went twice while in La Tejita and would have gone more had they not closed two days midweek. The fish is that day's catch - the port's fishmarket is just outsdie their door! They open non-stop from 13.00 right through to midnight and were full around lunchtime when we went so we had to sit outside for five minutes before a table came free, but it has a large dining room so there's a good turnover. We both adore fish and I think we know good simple fish dishes - the tastiest - when we see them, and this restaurant is one. I am not so sure about the €€ rating: both days we had two courses, wine and sweet for 60€ the two, mind you the second course was the parillada - the fish grill (four different fish on the platter) - and that...
Read moreI'm not usually one to leave reviews, but this place deserves recognition. The food was phenomenal, the wine pairing was gorgeous and the service was second to none. The man who served us made us feel welcome and wanted and even helped me get over my fear of trying to speak Spanish, even when my Spanish wasn't good. The way everything was cooked and seasoned was absolute perfection and the atmosphere was delightful. It was a very very welcome escape for us. We would honestly come back to this island just to enjoy being served food like we enjoyed tonight by the very kind gentleman who served us.
Also the house cake was 10/10, we a almost didn't order because we were so full but we both grew a second stomach and it was definitely worth...
