Restaurante La Langostera, Marisquería en Los Abrigos — Restaurant in Granadilla de Abona

Me and my family visited this restaurant on Christmas Eve. The waiters were nice and friendly - nothing wrong with the service at all. However, the food was the absolute worst food I’ve ever eaten. I’ve never eaten at a restaurant where I actually can’t finish the food because of how bad it tastes. At this restaurant I couldn’t finish my meal and neither could the rest of my family. We ordered a seafood plate with various types of seafood with boiled potatoes. Everything was completely dry and tasteless - salmon, mussels, crayfish and even the potatoes. We didn’t want to finish the mussels since we weren’t sure if the were actually ok to eat.

When leaving the restaurant a women who sat next to us came up and asked if we liked the food. We said no and her exact words were “oh good, wasn’t just us. The food was horrible, the most terrible food we’ve ever had”. Apparently they had the lobster and it tasted very bad. They left the food as well.

The food is not in any way cheap here either, so you’d expect to get value for your money. We paid just under 200€ for two seafood plates and wine. Was not worth it at all.

I again want to stress that the staff was friendly and nice and service was good - food however was the worst I’ve ever eaten....

Disappointing experience, unfortunately

We arrived at the restaurant with family and friends, about 30 minutes late due to traffic. Unfortunately, the waiter seemed visibly upset and told us the reservation had been canceled, even though the restaurant was completely empty and remained that way until closing time. Throughout the evening, only one other table was occupied besides ours (it was a Monday). The menu includes only a few types of fish dishes, which is unusual considering we were at a restaurant located right next to the Atlantic Ocean. When we asked which fish were wild-caught, we were told that only one type was, while the rest came from aquaculture. Quite disappointing for such a location. My wife ordered several types of fish, including a piece of tuna that had an odd taste from the very first bite. It didn’t seem necessarily spoiled, but it definitely wasn’t fresh and tasted different from anything we’ve had at other restaurants. She chose not to continue eating it, just to be safe. Service was generally correct and quick, except for the paella, which took about 40 minutes to arrive. Given the overall experience, I wouldn’t return to this restaurant and wouldn’t recommend...

Probably our weakest meal all week. The food is nice - just not great. They think they are better than they are. Waiter made us feel like we were an inconvenience. He got our order wrong. The canopy out side has two large holes/cuts in it - just doesn't look good. Pity - because it could be such a lovely place.

Just replying to owner below. I ordered the steak - asked for it Medium. When it arrived, it was medium rare. I immediately took it to person behind the bar and highlighted the error. She said she would ask the chef to correct it. When she brought the plate back - it was medium well.

She did call back to the table to ask if all was okay and I told her that the steak was now over cooked.

I asked for medium. I did not receive what I asked for. Yet the full cost of the steak was on the bill...!!

In relation to the cover on the terrace. I wholly understand and appreciate that items get damaged in storms. The rest of the restaurant is so nice - the damaged cover just made the place look unsightly - it probably would have been better not...
