Extremely Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend
Where do I even begin?
We were drawn in by the high ratings and positive reviews, but our experience was far from what we expected. We initially tried booking online, but the system didn’t work properly. When we went to the restaurant to check, we were told the booking had gone through—so far, so good.
But the actual visit was a different story.
From the moment we sat down, the service felt rushed and pushy. The waiter asked for our drinks order the second we sat down, before we even had a chance to open the menu. He then stood over us as we tried to decide—very uncomfortable and off-putting.
The pressure continued when he came back almost immediately to take our starter order, again without giving us proper time to decide.
Now the food…
We ordered poppadoms, and unlike most Indian restaurants, they charged separately for the chutneys—which would be fine if they were good, but they weren’t. Being Indian myself and having eaten at many Indian restaurants, I can confidently say the food here was below average.
The samosa chaat was not what they claimed—it was basically chickpea curry with a samosa tossed in. No authenticity, no balance of flavours.
To top it all off, I specifically asked if the onion bhajis contained whole coriander seeds. The waiter assured me they didn’t. But guess what I found once I took a bite? Whole bloody coriander seeds! This isn’t just disappointing—it’s potentially dangerous if someone has allergies. It’s a serious issue and shows a lack of care or knowledge from the staff.
I was so frustrated I didn’t even bother taking any pictures of the food.
Overall, a really underwhelming and disappointing experience. There are much better Indian restaurants around—don’t be misled by the high ratings. I definitely won’t...
Read moreMyself and my wife visited Masala Twist twice on our holiday, and I have to say that if I was to live in Fuerteventura I would probably eat here at least once a week. The decor and over all ambience of the place is very nice and you're made feel very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and polite and you're never rush between coarses. The food is always piping hot and very tasty. There is great choice on the menu and you can even order the level of spice to your liking, I live this as I love curry for the flavour and when it's to hot I think it loses flavour. Masala Twist is great value for money as well, after each visit I was stuffed and not because they use MSG!! The Naan breads are huge and so tasty I could visit just for that. Over all it's a very well organised Indian restaurant with the customer's needs in mind. Well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed if you like great value for...
Read moreFabulous place and very attentive staff. I have 2 minor gripes, 1: we asked for poppadums and pickle tray but they brought that to the table with the starters. This meant we had to eat the starters before went cold which is not ideal as we like to enjoy the poppadums for a while. also, the onion bhaji starters were just 4 simple pieces on a plate with no salad at all which made it look terrible as a dish, also no sauce was supplied with the bhajis. Every Indian I have been to always add some salad with the bhajis which is so much nicer to look at and also enjoy. The mains were gorgeous. One other small thing was this Indian has no green chillis at all in its kitchen which I thought was a must and something I always ask for in my pilau rice, strange. Will return to try again this...
