A Poniente Gastro Bar — Restaurant in La Oliva

The restaurant seems to be quite new. The furnishing and interior is half retro - half modern - and it gives nice edge to the place. The atmosphere is very peaceful and warm, and the place is very clean. We had 6 months old baby with us and they offered a baby chair for us. The staff was friendly and tried their best, even though all of them didn't understand English very well and we ended up having only one ravioli dish instead of one, and there was also a little mix up in the check. The black ravioli was great, and there was enough fish sauce for it. Also the patatas fritas pleased the eye but there could have been more taste in the red sauce. We came there around 3pm, it wasn't too busy, half of tables were empty. We sat to one of them and spent around 10 mins paytiently watching 2 waiters passing by multiple times. I assume they were hoping we catch the hint, but we don't give up that easy, so I took the menu by myself. After another 10 mins one of the waiter finally realized that he needs to be more explicit to get rid of us, so he took a minute to approach the table and inform us that kitchen is very busy and the order will take at least 20 mins. Considering that it already took him 20 mins to get to the table to take a order, I would not expect the food arrival till the dinner. Ordered the vegan meatless meaty burger with smoky tofu and was very disappointed. Was just a vegetable patty with a slice of regular tofu. As far as vegetable pattys go it was nice but not at all what I was expecting. The name was very misleading. I was expecting something like a beyond burger or some equivalent meaty style burger. The chips that came with it were a bit undercooked. My wife ordered the vegan lentil pasta with seitan bolognese but they didn’t have the ingredients so I can’t comment on it.
