The "disinterested duo" were serving tonight. And the food they were serving was below par too.
It was our last night so we wanted good food, good service and a good view.
I read the reviews and although there were a few poor ones, they were from some time ago. Restaurants change hands so I thought the old reviews didn't represent what we'd be enjoying tonight. I was so wrong.
The waiter could hardly be bothered to find us a table but after seating us he left us with the menues. We decided on our drinks but no one came back to take our order so we asked for them at the same time as our meal order.
The sangria I ordered was bitter (especially in comparison with the delicious sangria I enjoyed last night at the cheap and (very) cheerful #Cabano Pizzeria). But the coup de grace was the fillet steak. I ordered mine medium rare with a mushroom cream sauce. The sauce and steak were good but, strangely it came with chips and rice? My husband ordered fillet but without the sauce. It came with chips and salad and plenty of gristle. He couldn't eat it and neither could I.
We worked hard and finally managed to cstch the waiter's eye. We asked for the bill. As the waiter took our plates littered with remnants of our dinner, he asked if our meal was okay. We didn't bother to respond as he was already near the kitchen by the time he finished his query and would have found it difficult to hear our response in any case.
His disinterest was so surprising after a week of super special restaurants, cafes and bars.
So, to sum up - the view was nice but the meal, drinks and service need to be addressed before we eat there again. Do yourself a favour and choose one of the other amazing eateries in Corralejo. There are plenty.
If you've read this far because you're one of those who always read the one star reviews and think "hmmm. They obviously have an axe to grind" please read my other reviews on Google or TripAdvisor. I'm usually the first to give praise where praise is due. This was definitely not one of...
Read moreWe only went to this restaurant because of the good reviews. The food in Corralejo is definetely hit and miss, and most of the tourist places are a miss. The food in this restaurant was spot on! You could tell it was freshly cooked and not flung in a microwave. To start we had the garlic bread with mozzarella and the meatballs. For the mains, i had pasta and my boyfriend had a pizza. He is very picky with pizza, but he thoroughly enjoyed it. The place was clean and the staff politie. The only thing that we noticed was how short staffed it was, as they only had 2 young boys running the whole restaurant...and it was very busy! The food didnt all come out together, and we waited a long time for the bill. I would definetly go back when it is quiet. The owner needs to employ more staff, as it's not fair on those who are working hard and not receiving any credit or tips because they are run off their feet.
To the owner - you cant run a busy resturant with 2 people doing everything. Employ more staff and you will see your reviews and...
Read moreOnly gave this one star because I could not leave a review with out giving at least a one star rating. I have been coming to Corralejo for almost 30 years. I have given this restraunt 3 chances over the last 10 years. The latest being tonight. As always absolutely pathetic service. Waited 10 mins to even be acknowleged. 20 mins for a drink. People who came in after us got drinks and food befor us. Ordered 4 diet cokes and a red wine. Got red wine so long after the cokes we forgot we ordered it. Ran out of diet coke so only got 3 and a coke zero. Food acceptable. Service, well unacceptable, as it has been for the last 10 years. I suppose employing people in trainers and ripped jeans gets you what you deserve!...
