Vista Lobos — Restaurant in La Oliva

My partner and I stopped here and asked if we could have a drink (aware that it is also restaurant!) The waitress queried this with another member of staff and said we could sit at one of two tables at the front which we were happy with.

We could feel that we were being watched on sitting down. The waitress asked if wanted dessert when we ordered a drink and we said no thank you. It felt like she was pushing us to spend more money. She looked puzzled when we ordered an alcohol free drink too.

Once our drinks arrived, we were playing a game of cards and a member of staff asked if we were enjoying ourselves and laughed.

We looked around and the place was very quiet so we couldn’t understand why they were turning up their noses at people spending money… even if it was drinks and not food.

Disappointed and annoyed, we left most of our drinks still at the table and...

I have no idea what restaurant these bad reviewers are eating at, but they surely must be confused. The food here is consistent quality, not pretentious at all, feels wholesome and fresh. Imagine a meal served as a guest of the family. It's not overpowering with spices, and you can salt for yourself if you want more power. I can really appreciate a cook that does not oversalt and overspice everything, rather let's natural flavors "speak for themselves." It's honest food served by genuine and honest folk. Get one of the fish platters to try local fish varieties. The wait staff is super attentive. I had broken my arm earlier in the day and the waitress wrote me the kindest "get well" message translated to English on her phone. The waiter also makes good recommendations and was also very attentive. We visited more than once...

What a wonderful experience I had at this restaurant! We were a party of two and had the pleasure of sitting at an outdoor table with a spectacular view of the sea, Anker Bay, and the harbor pier.

The staff was extremely friendly and quick, making our visit even more enjoyable.

We ordered the Mariscada Canaria, a seafood platter that was exquisitely prepared and delicious. Every bite was a burst of fresh sea flavors.

For dessert, we enjoyed the three varieties of chocolate accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect finish to an incredible meal.
