Absolutely shocking experience at this place tonight. They got all our orders wrong, mains came with starters. One was missing, we got stuff we didn't order. The chips that came with the food may as well have been raw potatoes! Absolutely undercooked and inedible, the 2nd lot were the same, then the third lot were a little more cooked bur still not cooked enough, 2 of the 3 chicken escalopes were burnt and it was like cutting into old boot leather! The waitresses didn't have a clue what we were asking (I understand we were in a Spanish restaurant but they are aware they get British customers bur she couldnt speak any english) I've got to say on a plus side the younger guy with the beard was a very good waiter though. The manager did come over to us at the end and gave us 30% off as he could see the experience was a shambles, we dis accept this however the night was already ruined and we just wanted to leave. Granted the restaurant was busy so a fee mistakes can be expected but I used to love this place before and was excited to go back, but I'll never be visiting here again! La Playita next door is much better!

Great octopus, prawn carpaccio...

Update: Disappointing Decline in Service and Experience

As a long-time customer of this restaurant, having visited at least 50 times over the past decade, it saddens me to say that my recent experience was nothing short of disappointing. While there were occasional issues in the past, the excellent food and service always made up for it. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case.

During my latest visit, the service was terrible. Waiter Tino, in particular, was unprofessional and dismissive. His attitude, along with that of several other staff members, was downright arrogant. It seems they believe that the restaurant's good location and view are enough to attract and retain customers, but that's simply not true.

Sadly, the only redeeming feature left is the view, which is not enough to justify the poor service. It's a pity to see a place with such potential decline in this way. I can no longer recommend this restaurant and have reduced my evaluation to...

Second time here, tried this place originally based on reviews, nice location overlooking the beach. It catches the sun in the afternoon, which is definitely an attraction and why we came back again.

I get the sense it tries to set itself apart as perhaps more upscale by the decor and white linen tablecloths, so you expect more. It does look appealing to a passerby. The staff are not rude, just not as friendly as other places, maybe it's lost in translation..or they are too busy... got the same impression on the first visit, this second time I was expecting a may I take your order....instead I was told "come on.... the food the let's go"... ... disappointing and a little aggravating on a chilled out Sunday.

Food was ok, not memorable in any way. We won't be back, but by all means if you want sunshine and a fantastic view and are not expecting a whole lot from the food then this is a good spot. Sometimes musicians play just outside...

We went to La Marquesina for an early-ish dinner and despite not having a booking, they were gracious in getting us seated with our kids. The staff were friendly and polite especially our curly-haired waitress who was exceptional. At no point did we feel hurried and they were understanding of our kids being slightly more excitable and picky with their meals. (They were also sympathetic and welcoming when we needed to pop in the following day to use the toilet having been out). The food was delicious and while portions were not the largest, it was by far the best fish we had while on holiday. The location is perfect and you can watch the sun set across the beach that sits next to it. The meals are brought out on trolleys which adds a bit more ceremony and made for a really lovely experience. Though it was wasted on the little ones, this was a really lovely restaurant to visit.
