Buga Ramen Las Palmas â A Real-Life Manga Feast! Let me tell you, stepping into Buga Ramen Las Palmas is like falling down a magical noodle-scented rabbit holeâone second youâre in Las Palmas, the next youâre in the heart of Tokyo, somewhere between a Studio Ghibli film and your favorite manga series. Yes, itâs that enchanting. The location is pure perfection. Every corner is curated with love and detailâfrom the vibrant dĂ©cor to the anime art, the lighting, the music⊠everything whispers âWelcome to Japanâ, and for a moment, you honestly forget youâre on an island in the Canaries. Youâre floating in ramen heaven. The staff? Superstars. Friendly, warm, genuinely into what theyâre doing, and incredibly helpful. Our server even asked us to rate our spice tolerance from 1 to 5 before bringing the heatâwe bravely chose a 4, and it was fiery but fabulous. Now letâs talk about the food. Oh, the glorious, glorious food. We ordered: Spicy karaage chicken â crispy, juicy, flavorful bombs of joy A steaming, soul-hugging ramen bowl Curry rice with chicken â rich, comforting, and served with sides that made each bite a layered delight
And speaking of portionsâletâs just say your stomach might tap out before your heart does. We couldnât finish everything, but not for lack of tryingâthe portions are generous, but never overwhelming. You feel satisfied, not stuffed to regret. Even though we were already full, we had to try dessert. We shared a chocolate dorayaki and a green tea mochi, both served with whipped cream and crumble biscuits that took them from âcuteâ to âout-of-body experience.â Little surprise at the end? At the counter, we got to pick a free anime keychain as a gift! Such a sweet final touch that wrapped up the whole experience with a bow. Oh, and donât miss the signature house drinkâlightly fizzy, vaguely cola-ish, and super refreshing.
Weâre already planning our return trip to work through the rest of the menu. Buga Ramen, you have our hearts (and our taste buds). For now, itâs the only one in Gran Canaria⊠but it deserves a full-blown empire. Arigato & bravo, team Buga!...
Read moreWe did not know about this place in advance and just stumbled across it while exploring Las Palmas.
What a discovery though. From seeing the life size, high detail, Goku statue through the windows to walking inside you are immediately immersed in a wonderful anime theme with art and pictures covering every surface and quite a few figure and diarama sets dispersed around.
I knew instantly I wanted to stay. The staff who served us were helpful and friendly and the menu also had allergy charts and they understood and were able to explain what was in each dish and even make any specific choice without the problem ingredient to a certain degree.
Then of course this a restaurant, so the food came quickly for us, it was quiet at the time so only about 5 minutes. It was well presented and simply delicious. We had katsu curry and one of the ramen bowls then Mochi for dessert. I really enjoyed all the food. Chopsticks are at the table but you can help yourself to cutlery aswell from the bar.
I highly recommend Buga Ramen to anyone but if you are an anime fan and like Japanese food it's an absolute...
