Chiwawa Cantina Vegueta — Restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

My husband and I had lunch here and tried several dishes: the nachos flor azul, the stuffed jalapeños, the vegan bombas, the hechicero taco and the dorado taco. We enjoyed almost everything, but we both liked the nachos flor azul the most. The vegan bombas were flavorless except for the vegan chili on top, which was definitely tasty, but there needed to be more of it, as it was a bit scant and definitely didn’t “cover” the cassava balls as described in the menu. This menu is great for vegetarians and omnivores alike, as there are so many options. The only real disappointment was the strawberry-passion fruit margarita, which tasted like nothing at all and didn’t seem to have any tequila in it whatsoever, but it cost €8. The waitress was very kind and the food was quickly prepared and very very veeeerry delicious!! A lot of vegan options available and such delicious smoothies!!

The price range is very good , 1 taco starts from 3,95 and is very filling. You could be good with homemade nachos , a taco and a nice drink and stay under 20€ for 1 person. Very authentic taste and a lot of options :)

The decor was very pleasing and perfect for the Mexican theme. The lights and the music are also very good.

We had a little conversation with the manager about the restaurant at the end and he told us a little bit about its history. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend everyone visit the location once on the way...

We were delighted to find this little hole in the wall, the prices were very fair and the quality of the dishes was incredible. The flavour combinations of the tacos were great, staff were awesome. I advise to try any of them as they are all amazing…I even got the “13”, which is their signature spicy taco for take-away. Hoping for a fiery breakfast!

Drinks were reasonably priced and the decor was enchanting, especially the clothes lines spanning the whole restaurant.
