We were happy to find a brunch place around Las Canteras, and the first impression was great. The tortilla (Spanish omelette) was excellent and the breakfast burrito was also very good. Came back a second time. This time we also tried the chicken club sandwich. Almost 10 euros for some tiny pieces of chicken in mayo between pieces of dull, dry bread was a disappointment. Third time we decided to stick to the tortillas. After 25 mins wait we were told it would take 10 mins more, but in the end it took almost an hour before the food was served. Even though we made the staff aware of this, nothing was done to improve the experience. A small gesture of a coffee refill or a symbolic discount is often all it takes... In conclusion, given the price level, there is much room for improvement.
Reply to owner: I appreciate your time to write a reply to the review, but it seems a bit unprofessional to try undermine it by implying that we were being rude. After 50 mins (25 mins after you had told us "10 more minutes"), my wife reminded you when you passed by our table. You just gave her a look, and walked away without replying to her. So when you some minutes later came back with the food, she did unfortunately not have so much patience left to listen to why the food took an hour to make. Anyway, this is my review, not hers, and it is generally a good idea to advise about long preparation time in advance. That way your guests can decide for themselves if they can wait...
Read moreThis seemed really promising back in late 2024/early 2025. Background: There aren't any decent actual breakfast places in Las Palmas unless you're the easily pleased "toast'nbeans" crowd. Everything is lacking somehow. An "English Breakfast" can be food poisoning on a shingle. There are a couple alleged "creperias" and a place advertising itself as a "Swiss Restaurant", whatever that is. No where can one find a real Bloody Mary. Real scrambled eggs? "Whuzzat? Bacon? You mean this? (holds up unrecognizable fried greasy meat). "Toast? You like it wet, because that's how we serve it". So .... basically BREAKFAST DESERT HELL. Even the "continental" offerings are anemic. So Fresquito showed up with a small but expertly prepared eggs Benedict that was amazing. They also used to have Mimosas and Bellinis. Somehow they aren't serving anything except juice and water these days and while the menu is good it's NOT ENOUGH and it all falls down. It would be an epiphany and elevating to get a real Bloody Mary or a Mimosa or Bellini along with the wonderful Benedict....
