Read google reviews which highly recommend their Bibimbap (€13.90, SGD21).
Clean flavours, love the capsicums were roasted first hence sweet and soft. Other vegetables included onions, cucumber (don’t think it was zucchini), carrots and mushrooms. And beef. At first I thought the sauce was not be sufficient however, it was just nice as too much sauce might make the rice mushy. As I was early on a Thursday night 630pm, restaurant was relatively empty except for another table.
Went the next day Friday for dinner at 830pm and got a table and by 9pm the restaurant was full. Ordered their Kimchi Jjigae (kimchi soup) (€8.90, SGD13) and Japchae (€12.90, SGD18.50). The soup was served pretty quickly, underwhelming for me as the soup taste was on the weak side, with limited ingredients (cubed tofu, kimchi and potato starch noodles) however tummy warming in cold weather. I think the waitress forgot about the Japchae until I asked about it. Japchae similar to bibimbap has clean flavours, ingredients similar to bibimbap with the except of the...
Read moreModern and comfortable Korean restaurant with a wonderful terrace on Las Canteras beach. The young couple running the restaurant used to run another Korean place a block away from this new location. The new location has all the good stuff from the previous place, but renewed with a nice and youthful atmosphere. This place is often full, but service was very fast nonetheless. Mandu are korean dumplings, so we obviously had to try their mandu. They are very delicious, airy but crunchy, with great flavor; you almost dont even need the soy sauce. We also got bulgogi with a side of lettuce to wrap the meat in it. Tasty and with a lot of veggies, making it sort of healthy. We also ordered the jajangmyeon, which is noodles with a sauce called jajang. Their version is fresh, feels almost like an Asian pasta salad. Overall very happy with the location, decoration, food, service, and prices. Wish the best to this restaurant and the young couple running it, and hope it will stay for many many years as a reference to Korean...
Read moreI've always wanted to come here and today I finally did......and shouldn't have. I'm Asian myself. The pancake is not what I was used to from Korea or any other Korean restaurants in Europe. It was pretty bad...burned outside and raw inside. The Jajiangmien also very disappointing and tasted like nothing. I've asked for something spicy to give it more flavor. The waitress asked me if I wanted something really spicy and she brought some chili paste in oil. Well, it wasn't spicy at all and they've charged 1,50€ for it! Seriously?! In every restaurant you have chili/sriracha/tabasco on the table....and especially in Asian restaurants and Mandu really charges 1,50€?! That's so ridiculous. This place is so overrated. Better go to Kim's Pojanmacha...
