This place was so saturated with Japanese pop items, that I will admit that I had some expectations.
firstly, if you are more than two people, you definitely should not eat at the restaurant because there are just two bars, one in each window and both of them less than 2 m wide.
Regarding the food, we ordered a couple of mixed sushi plates and, I don’t think I’ve eaten this much fried onion since I had a hotdog. This was not the sushi I was expecting with clean flavor profiles and simple ingredients. Also, I understand the benefit of having single packets of ginger and wasabi for the people who are doing Takeaway but if you’re dining in place, even if it is a tiny place, you should serve the food on plates, not in plastic bags.
In many large cities, you can find places like this which is basically just a serving counter and a bar in the window. It’s simple, small, humble and allows for the restaurant to focus on quality rather than quantity due to the size of the place. This would also be reflected in lower prices. Apart from that this Chinese couple are serious about their food and the pieces are wonderful.
