First night in Málaga, and we wanted something which was going to start us off on the front foot, whilst not being a million miles away from our apartment. Boxes comfortably ticked!
To be fair, Arrebato already had very good reviews, and it really didn't disappoint. We had proactively booked a table, but on arrival it did look like most tables were reserved, so really glad we did. We were met by the very friendly waiter, Caesar and seated on a high table towards the back. Perhaps one of the less attractive tables, staring down the corridor to the toilets, but it was sort of fine.
We opted for the croquettes, chicken tacos and some grilled prawns on a skewer in the first wave of dishes, and then the grilled red tuna and Galician octopus as sort of mains. All items on the first wave were big hits, in particular the croquettes, comfortably 9/10, however the main dishes were 11/10! The tuna was melt in the mouth, served on a bed of root mash, and the octopus was cooked perfectly, very tender served on a bed of soft sliced potatoes. The guys in the kitchen are doing some sterling work!
We'd leap at the chance to coming back, because the food was so good. A special shout out to Caesar who was an absolute gentleman, and a real credit to the restaurant. We were told about one of their sister restaurants down the road, which given the experience will be a definite. On top of that, the bill came to a paltry €57 which is really great value for...
Read moreWe had an extra pleasant experience at this charming restaurant tucked away in a calm and quiet street. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the food was absolutely delicious—both flavorful and thoughtfully prepared.
We were two and ordered two main dishes: one meat-based and one seafood-based, both perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. For dessert, we shared two treats, and I highly recommend trying their milk-soaked toast topped with sugar, cream, and ice cream—it's absolutely delicious and alone worth the visit. Alongside, we had a glass of wine and a bottle of water. The total came to €55, which we felt was good value for the quality in Malaga.
What truly made the experience unforgettable was the service. The waiters were incredibly welcoming, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely kind. They were happy to help us choose our meals and did so with a smile that made us feel truly looked after. Their warmth and hospitality added a special touch to the...
Read moreWe wouldn’t recommend celebrating at this restaurant. When arriving early to our reservation we were greeted and served after another table that had sat down after us. The servers took 20 minutes to deliver our drinks and then spilt vermouth on my partners white dress. She immediately offered to bring her a wet cloth. After waiting 5 minutes and asking another server for napkins or a wet cloth, the original server said they ran out of wet cloths and decided to do nothing instead. We were hoping to try the oxtail but when ordering we were told they had sold out for the evening. Shortly thereafter a table across from us ordered, then received the oxtail dish. The severs would only clear our dirty plates or glassware if we handed them to them. Over all the decent food was incredibly poorly represented by the clearly overwhelmed & uncaring...
