Kind of disappointed. I arrived and ordered something to eat. Then, the waiter asked if I wanted to eat there or take it to go. I said I wanted to eat there. So far so good. But when I was asked if I'd like to eat inside or outside, I looked at my surroundings and realized there were no seats left. I said "There's no room inside, right?" and he suggested that I check outside. I checked outside and the ones outside were also occupied. For that reason I asked them to make it to go. Immediately after, a lady got up and left the bar, which means a spot became free. The waiter cleaned the table that the lady had occupied, but instead of offering me to stay and take that spot, it was given to new customers who just walked in at that moment. I was just thinking "Seriously?"... He knew I ordered to go because there was no space, and he knew a table became free. He was even the one who cleaned the table after the lady left. It felt like everyone was welcome except me. I'm sure it was not his intention because he seemed friendly, but it still wasn't a nice experience honestly. However, I don't only want to say negative things about this place because the food was amazing and the prices were good. That's why I've rated the food with...
Read moreExtremely disappointed. Vegan for many years and was excited to find La Vegana. Had to send first dish back as is was cold. No issues with exchanging the dish which was great. 'Chicken dippers' with bbq sauce were nice. I would recommend that dish. Ordered hummus with carrot sticks which was tasteless although carrots were fresh and scrummy. We also ordered topped cheesey fries which was very oniony and not pleasant. So we ordered a different dish topped with bbq sauce and 'bacon bits'. 'Bacon' was soggy and again the dish was not eaten. Bbq sauce was quite overpowering and soggy 'bacon' was off putting. Not sure if this is how bacon is normally served in Spain, but in the UK this would be crispy. It seemed like they were busy and food may have been rushed as the fries were very pale. The service was OK, people were friendly. But unfortunately this is not an eatery I'd recommend and that disappointed me as I want veganism to be peoples first choice and support all vegan businesses. But I hardly ate anything and no one asked us about the food. Just...
Read moreVery disappointed. There is lots of really good vegan food in Malaga (meet vegano, andino gastrobar), this is not it.
Pros: -extremely well priced
Cons: food was very greasy/oily and not flavourful (the patatas bravas were especially bad, tasted like freezer burnt microwave potato’s) food was served cold not a nice atmosphere for dinner, felt like a fast food joint
EDIT Responding to the owner: I know what vegan means, I am vegan for the animals and have been for years! Andino Gastrobar has loads of totally vegan options which are clearly marked on the menu even though they do serve meat. -I never asked for healthy food, I am not a “health food vegan”. I came to your restaurant because the food as described on the menu looked like just the food I like. There’s a difference between good tasting fried food (which I enjoy) and food that is overly greasy....
