After being denied entry to several places without a reservation, my friend and I made the effort to do so at Peñe Juan Breva. We were told the show was 15€, started at 8:30pm, but to arrive at 8pm to secure a good seat. We arrived at 8:15, greeted an elderly man at the door with a cigar in his mouth, and told him we were there for the flamenco show. He told us it was full, and we kindly explained we had a reservation - and had confirmed a couple hours before arriving. He rudely told us "Tough luck, you should have been here at 8. We gave your seats away." Maybe it's a good show (or not), but we didn't make it past Mr. Douchebag.

What's the point of a reservation, if you allow "walk-ins" in order to fill the space asap?

Several locals heard the exchange of words, and told us we'd have a better experience across the street at Sala Flamenca...

I visited the museum as I love Flamenco and wanted to find out more. I went to a show here a few years ago and it was excellent.

The exhibition is on the upper floors and there is a lift for wheelchair users. The information is in Spanish , no translation to other languages so I used Google translate app with camera function to read the info, fascinating to learn more and much more complex art form than I anticipated .

It was only 3€ to see the exhibition which seemed reasonable. I was there over an hour because of the translation app process but if you speak Spanish probably 45 mins to one hour

There were v clean toilets on the 1st floor which was welcome

Check the opening times as it always closes at 2pm and it’s not...

I went only once for the flamenco show beginning of December. Really worth it. There are 2 rooms and we were downstairs. For 15€ we attended the show, got a light dinner and a drink. The show was really emotional and I loved the simple traditional atmosphere, only a pity it lasted 1h and no more. The show was presented and commented in Spanish which makes me think it's probably a place visited mainly by local people. You'll not be disappointed.

I just happened to wander by and saw they had a 1pm Sunday lunch flamenco session. Given the serious stuff doesn't usually start until very late I was a bit dubious but paid my €15 to get in plus a drink and small tapas. The tablao was bloody amazing. I think I was one of the few non Spanish in the audience but even though I didn't understand a word the passion and the attitude and the stamping and so on, just brilliant.
