We stumbled upon this lovely place by accident and although all the tables were booked, they fitted us in at the bar - and we’re glad that they did!
For an authentic slice of Malaga life and even better slices of food you should visit La Malagueta. Everything we ate was delicious and expertly cooked. The seafood was so fresh you could taste the sea! You could see all the food being prepared and cooked and it was served in an expertly considered order too as they knew exactly which dish should be served when - not that you’d know as everything they did felt effortlessly relaxed.
Nice and lively too, and busy with local patrons. Plenty of chatter from a variety of people. Everything was immaculate and if you like looking at some football memorabilia then the walls host old and new pictures of Malaga’s football side (although this is far from a ‘sports bar’).
Everyone was super friendly and we felt very welcomed. We spent the afternoon here and loved it. Cold beers, white wine, great food and brilliant service - I almost want to keep it a secret - but I’d like everyone to have the same great experience we did…enjoy!
Doesn’t open Sundays and closes at 4pm, which seems fair enough to me. Pictures don’t do the servings justice, we’d already tucked in when I took them, as it was...
Read moreThe food was ok, but the service - terrible. A friend recommended this place as worth visiting. A small local restaurant next to Playa La Malagueta - sounds great. We went there at rush hour and from the beginning were treated and felt like intruders for taking an available table and wanting to eat there. First of all, we got different snacks from other guests (no olives for us!). The waiter took our orders in English. However, when we decided to order additional dishes, he completely ignored us and after 20 minutes, when he finally came to our table, he started speaking Spanish very quickly and suddenly stopped understanding English... We didn't get the dessert we ordered, so after another 20 minutes of waiting I just told them to skip it and give me the bill. During our stay in Malaga we dined in different restaurants. They were busy, but the waiters have never been so rude. In general - I won't be coming back. There are...
Read moreStaff literally ignored my girlfriend and me.We take a seat ,and he passed us several times, didn’t even think to approach …I thought ok,he needs to serve tables around(the place have 5-6 tables ,so it’s not big),but then I start to realize that he is ignoring us on purpose. Men who was sitting next to us ,was polite ,gave him a sign that we are obviously ready to order, but he told him something in Spanish which I understand through the body language (like I don’t care…).After ,literally, 25 min of nothing ,we walked out. Pity,we was the only foreigners at that place …rude ,ignorance level,I didn’t see that in my life. In my country we don’t treat guests like that. P.S. I putted one star becouse there is not option...
