THREE CHEERS FOR BAGAZO! Our first time here and it will not be our last! Beautiful restaurant, A+ service, fantastic menu, and creative, delicious cocktails. We had the guacamole served with plantain chips, anchovies with tomato, clams in a green herb sauce topped with katsuobushi, shrimp tacos with julienned vegetables (note to kitchen, these were outstanding but the taco became soggy and quickly fell apart. Two tortillas for each taco would solve this issue), and pork cheek bao with pickled onions and herbs.
We then were greedy and tried two desserts; the Arabic cake and the cheese cake. Both were homemade and very delicious. We thought maybe the blueberry sauce overpowered the delicacy of the cheese cake so we would ask for the cake without sauce next time.
The cocktails! Not to miss! Some of the best I've had in Malaga. Do try the BBQ Bloody Mary made with bourbon and rye whiskeys and uniquely garnished with dehydrated celery strips. El Perfume was next on the list, created with Dewar's whisky, coffee liquor, passionfruit, lime, rose and peppercorn tonic, and a touch of smoke, all presented inside a lantern case. It had the most unique and refreshing flavor, I closed out dessert with the Dolce y Banana (BEST NAME!! 🍌🤣❤️) which, of course is a rum and banana cocktail. A bit on the sweeter side, definitely compared to the other two.
The service was the shining part of our experience here. Daniel was professional, attentive, and anticipated our needs. I come from a hospitality and mixology background in the USA and Daniel's service was some of the best I've experienced. Plates were promptly cleared, silverware was replaced between courses so we could start off fresh, dishes were expertly explained, and he coursed our food perfectly. Where I find many Spanish restaurants to be lacking in their steps of service, Bagazo, you have done it right! WELL DONE!

Read more6th Julio 2022 Thought I would go back 11 months later. And wow nothing has really changed. Tabla de quesos was fine. Pretty sure one of the cheeses you can buy in Mercadona. The mini hamburger was shocking first one served was cold and appeared to have been reheated in a microwave. Sent it back and the second one arrived well at least it was hot not much else I can say about it. The entraña was acceptable. This restaurant is visually stunning but everything else is so sub standard. Will not be going back.
After hearing so much about Bagazo we finally decided to eat there. Service was appalling (as in not enough staff, the staff were fine) only 4 staff looking after the tables and customer numbers above 70. The menu had 6 choices in Carnes, I went to order 1 and "not available", ok no problem I ordered another dish. Waitress came back 10 mins later to inform me that that particular dish wasn't available either. So 1/3 of Carnes not available. Starters were underwhelming at best.
Only redeeming factor was both mains were delicious.
Then upon receiving the bill they had added one of the dishes that wasn't available. So basically over charging me. But my overall experience was "won't be...
Read moreAte there today with my family, and was very disappointed. The restaurant does indeed look very nice, but that's all there is. The food is mediocre at best, and we were served steak that had obviously gone bad. Very strong rancid flavor, impossible to eat. At that price level you'd expect better. No apology was provided at all, like it's fine to poison your guests, but our request to get a different piece of meat instead was granted.
Also, all the dishes were brought at separate times, so we were not able to eat at the same time. Either you wait indefinitely for the others to get their meal, or the others watch you eat on your own. Not very convivial. I see many other people have made the same remark in their reviews, and the owner replied it must have been a "bad day" and they would make sure to improve... Well, that hasn't happened yet. And the restaurant wasn't busy at all, so no excuse there either.
Unless you just want to have a drink, you're probably better off going elsewhere, you will find better food and better service at...
