Restaurante Esquina Padilla — Restaurant in Málaga

We were really excited to visit ABORIGEN, because a friend of ours recommend us this restaurant. And finally we were inside, but the waiter was really Not structured, after he take our drinks, he take 10 min to bring the drinks. But he was so fast, he didn't even ask for something to eat, he was like okay and then gone to talk with the other ones, no structure. And as the restaurant is small, you see everything by near. After 5 minutes I could catch him again and said we would also order some food and then he Saîd yes and doesn't write it down. Just put it in his head, I was sceptical, but then nothing happens, the kitchen guy, drinks coffee, the other women drinks, the first waiter just has finished his job and go. No body do anything. After 15 minutes I asked the other waiter, you making our food or? And he was.... Ehhhh didn't even know. And go to the computer, but he said sorry, because the cooker, doesn't get the receipt. So he did and we were really about the go. But then the first meal come after 5 min the second after 3 and the last one after 3 min again. So i know and taste that nothing was fresh. It was just made warm and that was the taste. I am really sorry for this rate, because I like this kind of food, but if they don't Invest a little more energy I can not come to there anymore, for this price it should be at least fresh mad. We came here for a taste of an authentic Paella, but sadly it didn't deliver. It's always disappointing when good restaurants turn out to be blatant profiteers, filling the plate with cheap ingredients and adding very little of the more expensive ingredients. I expect this from establishments with poor Google ratings, but Padilla had a 4.6 (when we visited) and we expected something great. The paella was no exception to this, a very large sharing platter with 2 large prawns and very little other seafood in it. To make matters worse, it had been baked (is that the traditional Spanish way?) but for too long and it was hard and crunchy on the top and burnt on the bottom making most of it inedible. Mediocre food 🚫

Omelette with patatas (starter) - bland, they haven't even roasted the potatoes beforehand. Bland potatoes with a really hard texture. Not tasty at all. Couldn't finish it.

Paella - very salty, it dominates and eliminates all other flavors. Not that big a portion for 2 people.

Shrimps Pil Pil - smaller portion than another restaurant nearby. The water and peppers are extremely hot but the shrimps have zero hotness, none at all.

Service - fine, the waiter understood English.

Don't bother with the reservations. The closest available was at 4:30 PM but we just came in and sat at 1:30 PM without a problem. Saved us 3 hours of waiting for...
