Some restaurants attempt to transport you, whisking diners away from the grit of the city to some idyllic seaside dream. Pez Wanda does not attempt—it succeeds.
Tucked into its cozy corner, this is a space where warm light flickers against tiled walls, where rustic wooden accents contrast beautifully with soft marine hues. It is a place that hums with intimacy, yet never feels contrived. It is, quite simply, lovely.
And then there is Patricia. A gem of a server, her presence is effortless yet essential—guiding us through the meal with charm, precision, and a generosity that is increasingly rare.
We began with the sardines. Not the timid, muted kind, but glistening beauties—grilled to perfection, their natural brininess heightened by a whisper of sea salt and a brush of oil that shimmered like gold. Each bite was a revelation, the crisped skin giving way to tender flesh, rich yet impossibly clean.
The chimichurri, a verdant, garlic-forward triumph, provided the perfect counterpoint—bold yet balanced, its acidity slicing through the richness of the fish with just the right amount of heat.
To drink, Jalisco for Me, a cocktail that could have been crafted by the hands of a poet. Tequila-forward but exquisitely tempered, it danced between citrus and spice, offering a slow-building warmth that lingered long after each sip. A drink as confident as it was complex.
And just when we thought the evening had peaked, Patricia returned, bearing Limoncellos, unbidden but so deeply appreciated. Cold, bright, and buzzing with the kind of generosity that transforms a good meal into an unforgettable one.
Pez Wanda is not just a restaurant—it is an experience. And one that I, for one, cannot...
Read moreIt was our last night in Malaga and for the first time I have not prepared before the place where to eat. It was the very bad experience unfortunately. We ordered Seabass and Entrecote. Second dish was to be medium. It came very fast. Now I think if they do not precook most popular dishes before. Entrecote came absolutely rare and it was very cold. We asked the waitress to help us with this issue and she took it back to the kitchen. She was trying to convince us that this is the way they cook in Spain and I have to say that it was virtually the first time in my life when I was arguing with a waitress in front of everyone in the restaurant. She was not trying to finish it but continue to argue. I asked if they are going to prepare the new one and she confirmed. When they brought it back it turned out that it is the same pieces of previous steak but just fried more. Just imagine already cut entrecote fried again. In the end it was well done. My wife could not chew it and she did not eat it at all. Again there was a discussion with a waitress who was very rude again and tried to explain that they needed to cook it again as they cannot sell it to someone else. I do not care. It was the fault of the kitchen. They have to make it again. It happended sometimes to me and they were always solving their own mistakes. She contacted with her Manager and they did not agree for any discount and proposed free desserts. We rejected this option. In the end we paid the highest receipt in our 5 days stay in Malaga for the worst food. Lesson for life. Always check where you want to...
Read moreMy partner and I had a really negative dining experience here which unfortunately coloured our last meal in Malaga. We ordered the premium barbecue cow rib and limena sauce, the pil pil shrimp, the salmon pineapple ceviche and the sardines. The barbecue rib came within 5 mins of ordering which I was quite surprised by but I overlooked this fact because it did look quite appetizing. However I was taken aback when I took the rib apart only to discover that 3/4 of the rib was fat, and there was very little meat. At €24 a plate, I was shocked. I raised this with the waitress who tried to convince me that this is the way it is and that this cut of beef has a lot of fat. I tried to calmly explain that the portion of actual meat served was therefore not reflective of the price given that most of the plate is fat and inedible. She was aggressive and clearly annoyed and adamant that this is the way it is. After much back and forth, she eventually took the plate back reluctantly. She returned and rudely showed me that she had removed the item from the bill. While the other three plates we ordered were fine, the food was nothing special and the portions are small for the price and the whole experience had coloured our time there. €35 euros for three plates of mediocre food is just not worth it, and my partner and I were nowhere near full. I will not be returning here to dine. There are plenty of eateries in Malaga to choose from, and I urge you to consider...
