In short: Decent food but disfunctional and unprofessional staff.
Food: Overall it was decent, but a bit pricey, we had: Empanada, really good and tasty! Croquetas, good! Patatas bravas, not fresh and very basic flavour. Grilled chipirones, nice! Meatballs and mashed potato, it was OK.
Service: Poor and dysfunctional, clearly half the staff have no autonomy, causing really bad communication issues.
Great start by the gentleman that took our order, well mannered and professional, but some of the staff felt like they didn't want to be there, it felt really uncomfortable trying to ask them for something, as they would not be paying attention or they would easily get confused.
When we asked for the bill, I had gone to the W.C., when I came back, my girlfriend told me that the PR person for the restaurant asked one of the waitresses "when are those two leaving" in spanish, not realising we are also from Spain. The waitress started spraying down the table and cleaning it before we've even left, my partner having realised that was their way of telling us to leave, eventually responded "OK, we're leaving, we're waiting for the bill!", to which the PR person realised and apologised, and offered free shots.
Ultimately the service soured our experience, my tip to the restaurant is to give all their waiters training + more autonomy, avoid micromanaging them and above all, dont talk about your customers as if they were cattle, or at the very least, not...
Read moreSo, we are in Spain for a month. I was waiting for a meal like this. So the bar has been set for our trip. This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time.
We were looking for tapas and paella and checked out a few other spots, some were not rated very and and other were stupid expensive. A gentleman on the corner was handing out cards for the restaurant. We took it and thought nothing more of it. When the others were rejected, I asked who had the card? Good ratings, fair prices. So, off we went.. Who says random advertising doest work..
Sorry for the half eaten food pics, but I was hungry. Every single choice for the tapas was so good. Like really good... Meatballs, potatoes with a garlic aeole, pork stew with chick peas, shrimp in garlic and chili oil and empanadas. All our choices were sooo good while we waited for our paella! Some beer and sangria. Sangria was really good!
The Paella was just awesome! Could not have been better. Chicken and seafood option. So, many razor clams and mussels. I want more. And to top it off, some Baileys on the house!
Staff were friendly and attentive. I want to go. So, the challenge has been thrown down. I dare anyone to beat it....I want to go back. I hope we can make it..
For some reason, Google will not allow me to post pictures today....
Read moreThis is a review for going twice. I gave them the benefit of the doubt from going the first time and went the second for my Birthday do. It's such a shame I can't give a higher score, in fact I am being kind with this review as I am tempted to give less. I went having booked a table in advance that I wanted. The table was taken and we had another table which I didn't want. An hour later we got our table. The food isn't special either, the Carrillada wasn't succulent like it should be... I could have cooked it better... the salmon rolls are worth having, but there is not a lot of cooking needed! And we waited both times to be served drinks, and many times even forgotten about. In fact the first timeour whole order was forgotten and three tables served before us! It's such a shame to invite Spanish friends to a Spanish restaurant and the service and food is poor. Its sad. If you care about the restaurant more it will do well. But not like this... Good luck. I don't recommend going and I won't be going again. You...
