Had a meal there last night with my two daughters and two grandchildren. Couldn’t fault it. Good food, quick service, attentive staff at a reasonable price. Afterwards, despite several calls to the taxi service, we waited 1.5 hours for taxis that never came. In the end, one of the staff took my self and the two grandchildren back to where we staying and turned round to collect the rest of our party. He refused any payment too. Whilst waiting at the restaurant, my daughter asked for some water and she was given a bottle on the house. In the meantime a taxi did come for them, so I phoned the chap that took me to stop him going for the others. All in all, a good meal complimented by staff who went above and beyond. Also, while my girls were waiting, there was a table of approx 8 men who I gather were connected to a local cricket club. They realised the girl’s predicament and got into a conversation. My girls were grateful for that as they felt that these lads were looking out for them. So many thanks to those lads...
Read moreI should not even give single star this restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant and table was assigned for 5 people. The gentleman taking care of table nicely and in between another waiter was interrupting him and jumping on our table but was okk. We ordered vegetables pakoda and chicken tikka as starter, was really nice I specially recommend for vegetables pakoda. Next we ordered tikka masala and saag paneer, and one more chicken dish(don't remember the name exactly) but surprisingly all sweet, we asked waiter and well he explained as it was maintioned in menu and we were fine. Suddenly another waiter jumped and asking feedback of food, we genuinely told him and he was very rude saying (it is what is it), tell his friend that we don't want to pay that's why complaining. We were quite and finely asked for bill, and he is not paying attention and continue serving other table, a long time waited to pay. It's ok that everyone don't like the taste but should behave as hospitality.
Careful to choose...
Read moreThe food was pretty good, though not the absolute best. Service was a bit slow, and the chicken tikka masala had a surprising amount of added color and a touch of sweetness that I didn't expect, but it was still alright.
It felt more like a Western take on Indian food rather than the real deal. We went for the lunch menu, which cost 24 euros per person and included a starter, main course, drink, and dessert choices. The king prawns and the cardamom mixed bhuna were good, and the pistachio kulfi was a hit. However, the chicken tikka masala didn't quite hit the mark for me—it didn't taste very Indian.
On the plus side, the location is great, right on the Mahon port road, and there's plenty of parking available...
